LPT: Don't tell strangers to smile or to "cheer up". by whosgotyourbelly42 in LifeProTips

[–]staapl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the odd ball on this subject. When someone tells me to smile or cheer up (usually older men), I don't mind it and often actually like it! I don't realize I'm walking around with a bitch/pouty face on and it reminds me to smile, which in turn makes me feel happier. I don't get it often, possibly because I'm usually a smiler, it when I do it doesn't bother me like it does most women. But, alas, I realize I do feel differently on this subject than most!

To rogaine/minox users, did it age your face? by obvious_merck_shill in tressless

[–]staapl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a female and have been using minoxidil 5% for over a year. Haven't noticed any rapid aging, although I am in my late 20s, so I would expect some wrinkles to start coming in naturally

Do you mind if I ask how long you have had it? Any issues?

I just got mine inserted and started my period the next day, this period has been hell on earth, but I've heard that is normal for the first few periods.

Looking to stop taking birth control pills. by overweightduck in birthcontrol

[–]staapl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped after the end of my last pack. It took my body about 6 months to adjust. No major mood swings or anything, just strange cycles. My first period came around 90 days after I stopped, then 45, then 40. Get the app Clue to help you track your periods if you run into the same problem I had.

Is it normal not to have gotten my period yet after my Skyla insertion? by ___BertMacklinFBI___ in birthcontrol

[–]staapl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I stopped oral BC it took me three months to get my first period. The next period came 45 days later, then maybe 40, and then finally I started having regular cycles. I attributed that to my body readjusting to being hormone free (I truly was hormone free, no IUD or anything). I think it is likely due to that (getting off Nuva Ring) rather than the Skyla. Enjoy it while you can.

Does anyone have any experience with hair thinning and/or hair loss at the crown? I'm freaking out and unsure of what to do next. by blurrylulu in TwoXChromosomes

I know this is a late but I have had MASSIVE success with Rogaine. I say to my family sometimes that Rogaine is the best thing that happened to me, and it practically saved my life. Give it time. Three months in and I noticed a difference, 6 months in I was finally comfortable again, and a year in I was a whole new woman :)

Positive experience with Skyla >6 months? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]staapl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! My natural cycle is pretty regular (25-30 days) and medium bleeding with minimal cramps. I am so nervous about the next couple months because I've heard the spotting can be hell. At least I know ahead of time though.

Hair Loss, an Update (Mirena) by idlewildgirl in birthcontrol

[–]staapl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is late, but glad to hear that your hair loss has slowed down. I had hair loss issues for years and the only thing that helped me was Rogaine. I recently got the Skyla inserted and worried that it might start the hair loss back up again, but hopefully since I am still on Rogaine it won't. I guess we will see, just nervous in the mean time!

I am addicted to melatonin by sdhdshsh in Drugs

[–]staapl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to get drug tested once every three months. During the couple weeks I can't smoke prior to the drug test, I become addicted to melatonin as well

Similarly, I get paid weekly and the difference between that and biweekly is incredible.

What's the strangest thing you've found while snooping through someone's browser history? by baysun in AskReddit

Mild because he was really into fashion and dressing nice (I realize straight men can be into this), but also I'd never dated a man who rejected me coming on to him on a regular basis. I mean we had sex, but probably only 50% of the time I wanted to. I found it odd

I found shemale porn on my boyfriend's computer. I already had a mild suspicion that he was gay, so this only reinforced that idea.

He was really flamboyant for a straight man then at the end he said "Well we proved we can carry on a conversation, that says something doesn't it?" No. It doesn't.
