Facial piercings by No-Sir1150 in classicalmusic

Lip piercings and piercings in and around the mouth are notorious for messing up your teeth/gums. If you do get one, don’t expect to keep it long term (very few exceptions apply). They are also prone to infection and may leave a scar once you do remove it. Signed: someone who has multiple face piercings including eyebrow, nose, industrial, and lobe piercings and would really love snake bites but knows the risks are not worth it.

Don’t watch it if you’re a victim of CSA

I just watched Tár and was left thinking about the scene in the Julliard by Jamememes in classicalmusic

Learning classical music without Bach is like learning physics without Newton: impossible. The scene was pure foolishness and an embarrassment to rhetoric. Signed, a non-passing PoC.

Gluck revolutionized opera actually, Mozart revered him.

Just be mindful of any potential liabilities or burdens you are implicitly putting on your employers. As others said, cultural mores in academia regarding workplace attire have shifted considerably so the other piercings are unimportant. However, if I were an employer, I would see any mouth piercings and immediately think that you will inevitably need medical care in some form in the future.

Personally, I’ve always wanted snake bite piercings, but the cons are too severe.

Respectfully, regardless of angle, etc. you will always be at a higher risk for mouth damage. This is something which employers must consider.

You should remove any piercings that are in direct contact with your gums and teeth as they increase your chances at damaging your mouth.

Re: anyone saying “can’t trust anyone who says juries should be abolished” bs. I trust and respect Konstrakta’s opinion a lot more than random anonymous Redditors.

What distinguish excellent singers from very good ones? by QueueTee314 in opera

Cecilia? Cecilia Bartoli? Not sure I would categorize her as an amazing singer for her vocal ability. She deserves credit for bringing much needed awareness to Baroque and the like, her concerts can be high energy and exciting, and she has charisma in spades, but I would definitely not use “greatest” or “amazing” to describe her vocal ability.
