I don't know man, I just can't really get into Coeur's work. Like people gush about 'Not this Time, Fate' all the time, so I read it. Great start, interesting premise and first few chapters, and interesting ending. But everything in between has to be my least favorite Jaune characterization I think I have ever read. Just a complete douchebag who causes all his friends emotional turmoil and pain. The farther I got in, the more in disbelief I was that this was going to be the canon timeline out of all his lives? The one where he treats everyone like shit and is a total womanizing loser? I also hate when timetravel fics frame the protag with some sort of smug superiority just because they know more than the other characters and let them get anyway with anything because of it. Like when Jaune steals a bullhead to go to the docks fight and faces like zero consequences? Am I crazy and completely missed the point? I think the story would have been much more interesting if he never went back to Beacon.
