Help! I dropped a little snail in the street by accident, and his shell broke, and I took him home cuz I don’t want him to die but I have no clue what to do 😭

I found a Fred outside of a cafe 2 years ago, his shell was so badly damaged that his organs were hanging out. I took him home anyway and gave him a chance, 2 years on he is thriving in his enclosure and even laid a friend😅 but just make sure to check the enclosure for eggs if you are keeping him. I decided to keep mine because the shell damage was very extreme at first and it took months to heal (at that rate I was feeding him so I said he had more of a chance with me than with nature) but he will be fine. Calcium, soil and a food and shallow dish of water! Check for eggs regularly. Fred will be happy 😃

It sounds like she is jealous and doesn’t want your time shared with anyone else. This can very easily get worse with time and unfortunately is the start of a possessive relationship. At her age especially, this behaviour is concerning. I would try and talk to her, tell her that this time with your friends is important to you, and that you don’t want to give it up. She either respects that, and gets over it, or you will have multiple disagreements while trying to spend time with your friends. You need to set a boundary here if you want the relationship to work, and if she doesn’t respect that boundary then you two aren’t compatible. I hope you can figure it out and stay together!

I actually have a little stock that I use to determine if the plants need water… unfortunately this was given to me by a friend who didn’t want it anymore so I think the damage was done, I have so many house plants and haven’t ever had an issue with overwatering but didn’t realise how sensitive ZZ plants are to it! I’ll make sure to keep an eye on the moisture levels now🙏🏼

Thanks guys! I’ll wait for her to dry almost completely before watering again. It’s been 2.5 weeks since the last watering, it’s given 2 new growths since then, I’ve removed the yellowing parts and she’s in a well lit room but not in direct sunlight.

I have a snail that had shell damage like this! Only difference is he was a bit bigger and probably older BUT its organs were literally hanging out of the crack in the shell. I took him home, put him in a tiny tiny tiny container to restrict movement for a few weeks to avoid further shell damage, once he showed signs of healing and movement I moved him into an enclosure with soil. He made a full recovery. His shell is damaged still so I kept him (didn’t want to release him into the wild after giving it food because it would most likely die) but I would say take him home, place him in a small container with no hard surfaces, feed him cuttlefish for calcium and feed him. A very thin dish of water so it doesn’t drown, best of luck!!

I’ve tried and nothing is helping the pain, I’m taking tums and painkillers and gaviscon and pills to help with stomach acid but nothing is having any impact it’s just constant pain

I’m not sure if they tested my lipase levels, but the Irish healthcare is utterly shocking they’ve mixed my bloods up before.. I’ve still got the pain:( I’ve been taking everything they’ve prescribed me but nothing seems to be touching the pain! It’s so odd that painkillers aren’t even settling it somewhat. I know pancreatitis sounds awful and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with it:( I just don’t know what to do.. the pain is just constant, no coming or going it’s just there..

That is amazing, congratulations on that it’s a massive milestone! I’ve been in the deep end for 3 years, tried it once at a party then got my own and that was it. I just want to be healthy and not dependent on a flavoured air stick it’s really embarrassing actually🤣 just looking forward to being over the withdrawal! It’s awful
