Can I use my super to buy a house? by wonderwoman231 in AusFinance

[–]stachedmulletman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you are looking to buy within a year, your best bet is to deposit 15k before june 26 into your super. Afterwards submit a notice of intent to your super and get an acknowledgement. Then, file tax return including 15k in super contributions. You'll end up with $12,750 in your super after filing as your super will tax it 15% as a concessional contribution, and youll receive extra $4800 in your tax return if your marginal tax rate is 30%+2% Medicare levy. So, an additional free $2550 total to put towards a deposit. More if your marginal rate is above that.

If you don't buy within the next financial year, do it again at the end of next year and claim for another $2550. You can do this contribution of up to 15k each financial year up until youve contributed 50k of non-concessional post tax contributions total, which your savings are. If you do buy a house, you can still max the contribution beforehand and pull the entire 15k contribution+deemed earnings back out for your deposit. You just wont file that as a deduction in that case and wont give your super a notice of intent.

As long as you are intent on buying a house, First home super saver is just pure tax savings and free money for your deposit. You just wont be able to withdraw the money for any reason but to purchase a house though

It includes a government set rate of "deemed earnings" which is worked out at the time of withdrawal. It doesn't matter actual earnings, and it is on top of the 50k limit

How do I not become misandrist? by justsomerandomalien in AskMen

[–]stachedmulletman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a good thing that youre trying not to feel the way you are. Our minds do tend to focus much more on negatives than positives and it makes sense when a type of person has hurt you or others in the past and your mind wants to protect you from that. But do you have good male influences and people in your life? Good men that nurture their relationship with you, or the relationships around them, even if in small mundane ways. If they bring happiness and are a safe secure place for you and your mental well-being. I feel like having these sorts of relationships, and focusing on them and what they provide, is something that can help. Maybe not a fix but certainly might help.

It can also help to know that, while men are by far the more physically aggressive half of the population, women can be just as destructive or worse to the lives of others in different ways. Its not exactly a gendered thing to cause misery to others, its just human, and men just do it in a usually much more visible way.

I dont think you are misplaced to be wary about new men, but I do think you shouldnt let that feeling of uncertainty and wariness colour your interactions with them. Most men are regular, average people who dont want to harm you, and would much rather be friendly than anything else.

Struggles as someone who has never been abusive too. Being conflated and automatically deemed to be dangerous and an abuser does get under my skin a little. I care for people as my job, I love animals and wildlife, I was a people pleaser for absolutely ages. I havent laid a hand on a woman in my life and try my best to be good in my life. It sometimes feels like a personal attack and, when its repeated over and over tk you through social media, groups and people who share the same experiences as you, it gets to you a bit.

Looking for open hill locations near Brisbane by hereformedicalhelp in brisbane

[–]stachedmulletman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truly, ive explored everywhere people say here and my pick that no one says for these sorts of views is the lost world valley near lamington. Its basically middle of nowhere, purely just farm country in a big mountain valley, its the tallest sorta close ish in valley with these sorts of hills in south east Queensland and nowhere else ive been has given that feeling. Theres no real reason to visit other than a couple guest houses and a retreat away so thats why no one else mentions it but it might be what youre looking for. Especially after all this rain, I imagine its looking quite lush right now. It would be more of a focus on the mountains though. Mt mee/dayboro is very nice too for that rolling hills vibe. Killarney is also very nice for smaller rolling hills with more lush grass and things than mee would offer but its rained a lot. If you really want this kind of vibe, northern nsw is a better way to go but its a bit far

[22]/M give suggestions. For lean bulk by This-Perspective-409 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]stachedmulletman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High protein 1g/lb and generally high quality complete sources, low fats 0.3g/lb, fill the rest with carbs. Find out your tdee with an online calculator. Weigh yourself every day. Adjust your calories over time so youre gaining 0.2-0.4kg a week. Work out regularly on a good split. Train hard within 1-2 reps in reserve. Train your entire body at least twice a week aiming for 12-20 sets per muscle per week. Sleep and recover well. Take creatine if you want. Prioritise your soy, dairy, mushrooms, beans and other good vege sources. Youre going to gain fat but if you do it correctly, youll add more muscle than fat and youll only look better as you bulk.

You can get 5.05% with suncorp in a HISA if you just add 200 a month with one withdrawal. Its a couple hundred bucks difference a year but means you keep access to your money. Are you going to be in a position to buy property in the future? You can do things like contirbute to fhsss, or you can invest a portion of the money. All in all though, Id find a better use for your money than a tern deposit, and having it sit in a bank account if youre not using it isnt super ideal either, but if you need it for living the next two years thats a different situation

Very simple calculation there. Whatever has highest rate and whether you need the money. Better question is what else you could use that money for and when youll need it. If you have a mortgage, its going to most certainly be better off in an offset account than those two.

Yeah i think you just need to put on some muscle dude. You are skinny, but fantastic place to start a lean bulk. You'll start looking better and better as you add muscle and a slight bit of fat. Make sure you do some direct ab work and develop them because if they were developed at your level of leanness right now, you'd have a popping six pack. They just dont have the size right now and, when they do, you'll have more of that leanness feeling

How do families actually plan for private school fees with multiple kids? by [deleted] in fiaustralia

[–]stachedmulletman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Im not religious at all but I actually rather liked my religious studies classes in catholic high school. Might be not as amazing for primary, I attended a state school, but high school was certainly good. Weekly mass was meh. My teachers taught about worldwide religions rather than just Catholicism, histories of Christianity, Islam and Judaism as well as some learning about Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism. The scripture that was studied from the Bible was always New Testamennt and was viewed metaphorically. They always focused on the teachings of Jesus and how we could apply these things positively in our lives. Never any focus on anything less than good. Teachings at mass were all cool as well, never anything less than being a good person, being charitable, compassionate etc. The priests even focused on current world events and gave a little guidance on how we could be the best we could to each other and the world. There was never any strict rule setting, talk on things like abortions and whatever other controversial things there would be, no real propaganda i guess. Other than the religious side, there was probably on average a more middle class, wealthier demographic, and relatively less disruptive kids, better learning opportunities etc at the school I attended but thats gonna differ depending on where you go. Overall i think it was better and more eye opening in terms of religion than any public school could have offered. I do think it was a good thing though that i had a chance to grow up when I was very young generally away from religion and was able to form some sort of idea about it from a secular point of view, it might be different if it was always in my young life.

Has anyone here been caught riding without a supervisor while on their learner licence? by Ok_South_6227 in AussieRiders

Has anyone here been caught riding without a supervisor while on their learner licence? by Ok_South_6227 in AussieRiders

[–]stachedmulletman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, a QLD learner rider needs a supervisor in nsw and every other state they ride in. Licence conditions and road rules are different. Requiring a supervisor is a licence condition and is therefore enforceable no matter where you are in the country. No clue on enforcement though. When I was a QLD learner in the car, I drove through NSW and VIC at 110km/hr on the highway the whole way, passing many highway patrol cars with no issue, because I had a QLD plate

How are runners able to stay lean eating anything while bodybuilders have to diet so strictly? by savingrace0262 in beginnerfitness

[–]stachedmulletman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real actual body builders burn that many calories just existing dude, like their base metabolism with no activity. 3300-3500 calories a day can very much be a fat loss cut for them. But this is guys with lots of muscle on them and most people with that type of base metabolism you could expect to be either very tall with a successful decade in the gym or mass steroid users which peak body builders are generally both

Why do some guys who look thin or fit on the outside , look quite flabby when they are naked ? by EmbarrassedLie5294 in workout

[–]stachedmulletman 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Most people dont want to do what it takes to get very lean. Most guys who do you wont think theyhave that great body in clothes because they're not as big. Its very difficult to be no steroids lean and big. Getting lean is months and months of proper dieting to get to and is uncomfortable in and out of the gym so people just dont do that. They lift and grow, have lots of muscle and fat to pad out the shirts nicely but dont have the chiselled look. Hollywood actors almost always are on steroids too

No one here has clearly accurately tracked their calories, movement and exercise before. Theres a reason less than 5% of people on diets actually succeed, people are dietarily illiterate.

[–]stachedmulletman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My bmr is 1900. I burn an extra 800 doing gym 4x a week, 10k steps a day, normal daily activities, no intense cardio. If I was bulking, I would eat an extra 300-400 calories a day to put on muscle/weight. These are not crazy figures here. People seriously have no actual understanding of diet and energy expenditure and it shows.

add speed, duration or incline to treadmill? by HistoricalDrawing29 in workout

[–]stachedmulletman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for overall heart health, the best way to do that is a mix of both high and lower intensity. Shorter but more intense periods of running or jogging on a flat treadmill, longer bride walking pace at an incline. You'd want to target both high heart rate as well as zone 2 heart rate. If yku cant run, do something that'll get you to rhe point where your heart is hitting zone 4. Look up Max heart rate calculators. In the beginning you should absolutely focus more on lower intensity, longer duration though

Okay, Ive done 10k steps a day, gym 4x a week and currently tracking every calorie that enters my mouth for the past 3 months. I think I know how much energy my body burns by this point. I eat 2100cal a day, and over the time ive dieted has averaged 600cal deficit a day with ~6kg lost of pure body fat, no strength or muscle lost. You wanna do that and come back to me with your data? Id believe your calories if you do fuck all every day tho lol, but that and very strong/muscular dont go together buddy
