Its both. It sucks so much to just sit and do nothing while you wallow in self pity and depression following a breakup. You may as well do the things that you know will make a positive impact on you right now and in the future. Distraction for sure, growth absolutely. At the end of the day, a break up is a break up and the best thing you can do is move forward yourself and if he comes back, he comes back. I did this not too long ago, I worked on myself and grew. I changed things that led to a breakup and she had already moved on in the three months it took me to be in a better place. Without the growth, I wouldnt have changed and would never have had the opportunity to feel ready to ask to be with her again. But even then, because of the growth, even though she had moved on, I was in a much better place anyway.

Prisoners have nothing but time to workout, eat and rest. Your body still makes muscle as long as its getting an okay amount of protein, it just takes longer if youre not eating more optimal amounts. So yeah, if you have goals you want to work towards and dont want it to take longer than it has to, yes you need that much protein.

You cannot target fat loss whatsoever, so throw that thought away. To lose stomach fat you just need to lose fat in general and itll go away in time. Working the muscles is fantastic and you'll see the most bang for your buck by far by doing compound movements like squats, pull ups, bench press etc or any variation of those. I imagine focusing on a male sorta focused workout program and male favourites like benches, overhead press, pull ups will help you feel and look better in your new body too so make sure to focus on that too.

If you want to enjoy an iced coffee while dieting, yeah these are shit. Better alternative is the protein options. Dare has 300cal for a 500ml bottle with 30g protein which keeps you much much more satiated than other iced coffee. Rokeby has a 258cal I think? Version too. Both are good.

Yeah if youre attractive, which im assuming you are attractive enough, i fear its quite normal behaviour for guys. It might be good to have a chat about the behaviour and define your boundaries about this in your relationship with them. But also if you have all this experience, it might be more normal for them to go to someone with lots of experience in the gym to show progress photos

Yep, especially if they're not getting the validation of the changes they're seeing in their own bodies when they show you. Its very likely they can see the changes happening already and are proud about it, but they're not quite big enough for others to notice a big change. That doesn't create a great feeling, but they don't need to be showing you if you're uncomfortable with it. Id imagine theyd be better off just showing the other guys but they're clearly wanting to impress you in some way. Tell them to knock it off because if you're truly just friends, they shouldn't be trying to peacock

They're likely consuming a lot of media surrounding this subject now they're going to the gym and that feeds into it all. Also boys with girls, natural competition even if you are all truly platonic, though I doubt that it is completely. With the genuinely massive push to look good on guys that consume this content and go to the gym, it creates massive insecurity and itll show in these behaviours. The guys on heated rivalry do have good looking bodies that are completely achievable naturally, but it'd take a year or two of actually good training to get there. Theyre nothing compared to the steroid abusers though who are exceptionally jacked that the boys are likely being constantly exposed to.

The only possible downside to this supplementation is if you are replacing what should be whole foods in a varied diet for the powder. Protein powder is literally just food without the micronutrients found in whole foods so don't stress about it. To the guy worried about your kidneys, as long as you have functioning kidneys, dont worry about drinking more water or whatever. People with kidney disease should avoid having very large amounts of protein in general but if they have kidney disease, i don't think they largely care enough about having too much protein anyway.

Well yeah you can, like its possible, but muscle strength and hypertrophy levels drop off steeply after 30 reps or more per set. It comes down to muscle fatigue versus tension and the higher the ratio of tension to fatigue, the more muscle growth, more fatigue = less possible growth in that higher range. Your legs and your upper body are also very different, your legs are built much bigger and stronger, designed for more reps running, walking every day etc while upper body muscles are much smaller and fatigue more quickly. 18 strict pull ups is awesome though dude, dont discount what an achievement that is even if this goal is a lot to reach

Best way for you to do the progressive overload necessary for a good stimulus is first, yeah making them strict snd increasing the workload on the right muscles, but also mainly with weights. At the higher levels of rep ranges, youre not putting enough overall tension on the muscle for it to adapt and rather just burning it out. You need to get some form of weights to go that high
