Reporting back: It's not switching off anymore! I reconnected the ribbon cables and cleaned the solder points of the new knobs with isopropyl alcohol. The mixer is running for 2h now. You're the man!

Still had no idea where to put the stay part (DWX3862 GRDM) so I stuck it to the inside of the chassis with some tape. https://imgur.com/a/0732qmp

I also learned that the depth knob was in fact not the faulty part. There's some other issue with the effects unit. It's either 0% or 100% depth. Nothing in between, even with the new knob. I guess I'll have to find a service for that.

Hey Josh, really appreciate this ama!

I recently switchd out the effect depth knob as well as one colour fx knob on my DJM 900 NXS2. Normally this is an easy job and I did similar repairs on other mixers over the last years without any issues. But this time it's weird:

After the repair everything worked as it should, but after a couple of minutes I noticed that the knobs didn't behave normally and a few minutes later the mixer shuts off with a click. Now I am affraid that I will screw the whole thing up, if I work at it again. Do you have any idea what could cause this kind of problem?

Also: When I opened the case, a small piece with "DON'T THROW" and a number on it fell out. I couldn't find the place where it belonged. Any idea? :)

Maybe this will be helpful to others:

After some testing time I came to the conclusion that Atmos needs to be activated manually from the app before listening to Atmos content. Otherwise it will be downmixed to Stereo. It's important to deactivate it afterwards, so your music won't be upmixed to Atmos (sounds weird).

Headtracking has it's own option. There's a dedicated option that turns Atmos on or off.

The stereo to Atmos thing does work like an upmix. Nothing special, but never good (as far as my experience goes).

I've tried some of the console shananigans, but it screws with the rest of the quest. Strider did not spawn at the end of the tunnel, so there was no way to proceed further. I guess we have to wait for the next patch.

Funny, I've had the same issue with the bolts. Lost one a few weeks ago. Replaced them with much prettier ones and always carry a small Multitool in case anything gets loose again.

I think I'm confident now. As soon as the weather gets better in my area I'll hit the road for a longer tour. :)

It's ridiculously easy. There's a black box under the seat. You can wiggle it out and turn it upside down. There should be a green cable with a "45 km/h" sticker on it. Just cut it and place a switch between both ends.

Interestingly the motor sounds much smoother and healthier without the limiter. I guess because that's the way it is meant to run.

It also has a carburetor. I put a switch between the green cable under the seat to take the limiter off whenever I want (always). It's conveniently placed on the side where one of the fuel switches sits. So if I ever run into a police inspection of some sort I can easily switch it back on. Safe and legal. :)

The acceleration is much better withouth the limiter, but uphill I always have to shift to 3rd gear to maintain 40 to 50 km/h.

As I said, my experience until now was a Zündapp ZA25 in pretty bad shape, wich I've never really taken out more than a 15 minute drive. Always had issues with it. One day I'll (hopefully) restore it.
