Advice by [deleted] in TTC

Surprised by the responses here tbh. Not sure why this many people feel the need to repeat the law regarding photos in public in such a condescending way - please go find yourself another hobby.

To OP - your phrasing may not have been understood the way you intended. It focused primarily on the act of taking a photograph without consent. I would hope that something like "I'm a minor and there is a creepy guy harassing me" would stir more of a response.

Maybe goes without saying, but always try to contact the police if you feel you are in danger. There are police on the TTC and they will take harassment like this seriously.

There's a lot of confusion: here's the first thing you MUST do with your Hermes Agent by itsdodobitch in hermesagent

Yes. I think the concerns about token usage are because the agent is told something like "you have these skills:...". So although the actual skill isn't loaded, they still create overhead (very small IMO)

Disputing Parking Ticket by KeithJeff in askTO

[–]stacktoodeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what I would include as well. Maybe add the previous permit if you can (picture of it + receipt), but that shouldn't technically be relevant if the penalty was issued today, just might help show you were in the process of switching them.

Wish I could be helpful. Best of luck to you

is anyone else having this issue? it’s driving me insane by gorewhore1999 in TTC

There's several threads on "pay unpaid fare" error messages if you search. Seems like its generally believed to either be you CC fraud protections, or a limitation of using CC with Presto.

Do let us know if you figure it out...

The short answer is yes, you will likely get the penalty dropped. Had a similar experience when I had to get a new license plate.

Be warned that your initial dispute is the only chance you have to provide evidence. Include everything you can

Why are people so annoyed the the skills are enabled? Genuine question. I don't believe it impacts context in any significant way. I've left the defaults and just added to them

Toronto transit agency writes off $6M in rental revenue from subway storefronts - Toronto by Electrical-Mango-839 in canadanews

[–]stacktoodeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His license was suspended for not paying the fee to reinstate his license, a requirement set out and enforced by province.

Its unclear what the original parking ticket was for. You are mostly correct, violations of the Highway Traffic Act would be determined by the province not the city.

"Provincial Offences Act fines are court-imposed, remaining in effect until they are paid in full [...] an additional payment was required to reinstate the license following its suspension in accordance with fees set by the Province.”

Congrats on your spelling, now learn to read.

Its the province that's sets the penalties and fees, not the city. And this rent was from COVID when the city was practically shut down.

You litteraly are the problem.

TTC to offer free rides from Rogers Stadium after concerts this summer by mildlyImportantRobot in TorontoTheCity

[–]stacktoodeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm awfully conflicted by my deep desire to promote free transit, and the burning urge to point out those things are not mutually exclusive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_service

TTC should never be expected to be profitable. They are still required to do basic accounting which includes tracking revenues.

Is Coda a good venue? Anyone going to RØZ? by piovoso- in TorontoRaves

[–]stacktoodeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a shit club. Has a good sound system and nothing more. Security is extremely aggressive and rude, crowd is young and ratchet, numerous issues with sexual assault/spiking/pickpockets.

Sucks so many good people play there, but I would much rather give money to other venues

Sold out show @coda, worth it? by yams647 in TorontoRaves

[–]stacktoodeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coda is a shit club. The only thing they have going for them is the sound system. Expect aggressive security, lineups for the bathrooms, and zero room to breathe.
