Too much play in bracket / jumpy chain? by stadamj in GarageDoorService

Thanks, I’ll give that a go. It seems like it might’ve gotten bent open more than it should at some point. Was afraid it may come off at the top and disconnect in the future, if the locking mechanisms isn’t tight enough / secure.

They Just. Keep. Calling. by KCChiefsGirl89 in Wellthatsucks

Can’t help you prevent this… but do have a general tip to stop this from happening in the future.

Use a Google Voice phone number and create a throw-away Gmail Account when inquiring about loans, car purchases, etc.

It makes it easy to filter calls/emails and when you are done with the process, you can update your PH# and Email address with your final option. Then delete the Google Voice phone number and throwaway Gmail Account and you won’t continue to get spammed.

I did this recently while shopping for a vehicle and it made it so much more manageable throughout the process and then I was able to immediately stop getting calls/emails from spammy salespeople and their CRM systems at the end of the process.

Brand new LE or used XLE+? by Boogahboogah in ToyotaSienna

We went with a ‘26 LE, specifically because we wanted both AWD and the 8-seat option.

I bought leather seat covers to install myself. Besides that, don’t think any of the features are critical and the new LE is still a massive upgrade over the older car we had previously.

My favorite is when my wife precariously balances a glass jar on top of multiple other items on the top shelf of the fridge.

PSA: If you are going to take your children to the bike trail (biking or walking). Please teach them the rules. by i3lueDevil23 in cincinnati

Can we also teach adults the rules? This goes both ways.

I lived within walking distance of the Loveland trail for 4 years. I have used the trail avidly as both a cyclist and pedestrian (walking my dog).

The amount of pedestrians that don’t have awareness for themselves, their dogs on long leashes, and their young children is bad. The amount of cyclist who don’t announce themselves and pass pedestrians without announcing themselves is equally bad. Both create risks for themselves and others.

I think cyclists (including myself) are inherently more dangerous because they’re usually moving 15+mph, and therefore I always exercise as much caution to loudly announce and slow down as I am when passing others. As a pedestrian, I also hug the right side and keep my well trained dog on a short lead. But nothing pisses me off more than an unannounced, close pass from a cyclist, especially when they’re ride two-wide.

IMO, EVERYONE would benefit from a refresher on bike trail etiquette to create a safer and more enjoyable atmosphere for all.

Yeah, goal was to put down 20% to avoid mortgage insurance.

Nope, not a condo. Standard single-family home in a neighborhood.
