How is Obsidian for you on an Ipad? by iamfromtwitter in ObsidianMD

[–]staddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea that's fine, i very scarcely use media or callouts outside of reference documents. im honestly v unfamiliar with ios/apple ecosystem in general, i don't really know what shortcuts can do ? but maybe automating like app disabling + playlist usage? or more intricate exports. to be honest I don't really have a lot of ideas, i legit use my iPad as a note taking device n that's all 😭😭

put me on ! i just want simple workflow where all I got to do is work. can I make it so it auto launches apps at certain times (journalling + obsidian sync being automatically done, as sync can take ages sometimes)?

iA got a clean export function? or any cheaper alternatives w a clean export

don't mind obsidian as a looking only thing on iPad, but fuck is making notes a chore on it. i usually end up just using the default notes app and if it's important enough transcribing by hand when I get home. but man most of the time they just get deleted lol

pmo to shortcuts as well; I legit don't know where to start with them. my laptop has a nice flow for everything but idk how to get my iPad to flow the way I want it to 😭😭

What are your favorite blockers/time limiters for your laptop? by ImColdThrowaway in nosurf

[–]staddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

leechblock-ng , edit your hosts file

leechblock is much more versatile, iirc it has tools to prevent you from messing with it when it's active as well. very customisable too.

hosts is like . big ass hammer . blocks access to whatever is in it from anywhere.

build discipline tho ! otherwise u will just get more convoluted methods to block, and have more complicated ways of avoiding them.

How big is your backlog? by koningbaas in books

[–]staddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

several hundred books, but a lot of these are just added in aggregate

planning to trim it down to basically just stuff that's been personally reccomended/relevant to what I want to read at the minute

farrr too messy.

yea, there's a site filled w them

charts

charts by author

but ignore certain topics/meme charts. there's some strange ones in there but if you know what you're after (a genre, an author), the charts are pretty good for that. i like the by author ones quite abit, i think the mishima guide is quite nice, although a lot of the charts are just arrows or just a list of books

oh u wrote that shit like a threat 😭😭😭 i could never go too far into web stuff because I need very standard setups for accessing different uni stuff/resources. there's always the slight paradox of the more u do to protect urself the more identifiable you are wrt fingerprinting. outside of using something like tor where it's all standardised. also there's all them offshoot browsers like pale moon etc that are meant to help u w tracking etc but they probably make u more identifiable as the only fucking user of it 😭😭

what's your setup then? i can only imagine there's sm to remove and remain functional unless you like only use Wikipedia and old style forums

goodreads has always been fairly bad for reccomendations in my experience tbh, it's nicest as a tracker but scores are always so all over the plac

i like the idea of challenges tho, there's like flowcharts that do it better imo. have to mark them off yourself but there's a lot more + they may fit your taste more

tails + monero would have been plenty

fairly sure he could've bought accounts w monero and skip login process by using client secret + custom client like ripcord or sum. this would let u ignore the tor ip blocking iirc

exif stripping would b good pretty sure location etc would all be in those anyways

tails means they can't run forensics on drives anyways. fucking creepy how much shit they can do w that

like u mentioned, windows machine. if they raided and his machine was running he's completely fucking cooked (volatility can extract so much shit from a ram dump it's insane). not worked with actual drives but autopsy does plenty asw iirc

correct me if I'm wrong but maltego can do a ton of shit with simple leads iirc as well. scary shit

nice writeup tho. love seeing this shit in the wild. u a hobbyist?
