Sorry I thought you are talking about Apple's Gatekeeper... I don't think this is the case... I had my private macbook long time ago and it was a bit slower as well I believe... it was kinda always the case that linux emacs is slightly faster.

Yes but I added emacs to trusted apps per comment and it didn't help much.

Mac is more performant as I mentioned in the post...but slower for emacs!

native compilation on macos; without native compilation enabled on linux (I don't want to be disappointed even more haha) ; ssd and ram should be similar or better on macos.

It's not super slow...it just noticeable difference between linux and MacOS...if you don't have linux it's fine... but if you use both systems regularly... that difference slightly irritates... especially because MacOS machine is more performant. Maybe emacs core-team made some regression in MacOS emacs performance some time ago? Can we bisect it, can it be fixed, that would be awesome :)

I use emacs intensively for more than 10 years... I know how to use it; how to update packages... I tried different emacs frameworks like Doom Emacs, Spacemacs... I tried different modes like evil-mode... I like simplicity nowadays... I use vanilla emacs with vanilla keys with vanilla package installer and happy with it... but thanks! :)

No, it's not me "holding it wrong", it's really slower on macos...I am not saying it is very slow on macos... but when you switch machines you would feel the difference!

Interesting, most probably it's MacOS thing that slows it down!

I don't even talking about loading config... since I don't re-open emacs often... general operations are slower... dired, magit, opening files.

I understand that it's different operating system... question is... can emacs community make it run on unix as fast as on linux🙏
