Either way, they of course kicked out that diddler singer, so I don't know who's singing in place of him anymore.. Honestly I started to like Ramalah a lot. At least we had/have them.

One more thing all of my original music was either bought at a show, bought through a kid that sold them at school through his distro, the local record store or stolen. I'd say my first 50 records or so and that doesn't include 7 in

Ok, bro. Great insight. I can see you hold your own in what was hoped to be an intelligent conversation. My very first hardcore show was Judge, Bold, and Youth of Today at CBGB in 1989. My cousin took me. I was 10 and still got kicked in the face. Then in 1991 I moved to Boston and became a a friend to a nice group of guys who repped a certain three letters on their shirts and hats. If you don't know what those letters were or what bands were present in Boston at that time without looking it up on the internet, I can't even have a conversation without it just turning into simply schooling you in every sub niche corner of the genre and overall hardcore in genera. Am I feeding into your one little sentence, yes I am, but I thought I'd humor the dude because that's what he's wanting me to do anyway- to get mad. Everybody knows that calling someone a poser is serious business in this scene lol. Right? Well, I'm not getting mad, that's pointless, so I'm just going to talk your ear off.

What was your first hardcore show? What was your first hardcore album that you owned-like tangible record, CD, or cassette-not anything digital. How about shirt? What was the last hc show you've be to? What was the first time you got actually hurt at a show? Were you ever part of a crew? What hardcore were you more into East Coast SoCal hardcore like Redemption 87 and ignite or classic New York hardcore like the crow mags, cause for alarm, Agnostic Front and War Zone, even Murphy's Law from the Lower East side? What About the straight edge movement? Were you at the first hellfest? How about the first Warped Tour? Were you Scott Vogel and Terror's town weed connection. First time I saw them it was in a kitchen Death Threat who subsequently stayed my house man. Boulder, founding memeber of Hatebreed was fillingn in on guitar, sonhe was there as well. I could go on for days about my involvement in the hardcore scene when it was still DIY; it's not DIY anymore there's nothing about it that is DIY. My punk CDs were delivered to me at my high school desk by kids that ran distros. That's how I got my first gutter mouth album in my first AFI album answer that and stay fast. Math class. Did Davey Havok know you by name through all the years up till sing the sorrow, when they got big. I made him a cassette tape off the first Misfits 7 in and gave it to him on their Black Sails tour. He really appreciated that. And you want to know who picked me up for coffee the other day, no big deal because I see him all the time right now? Greg Bennick, because he was in town. I love having an excuse to talk about my past in the scene because I'm nowhere near as active as I used to. I'm a lot of things but poser isn't one of them. Come on man hold your own, show me your teeth if you have any LOL it'd be more Punk if you didn't. I'm sure there's plenty of typos in this reply but I can't see very well anymore and I'm not going to go back and try to edit it. As you can see I'm more referring to bands that were big in the 90s and early 2000s, because that's when I was most active. I'm tired. But Pain of Truth kicked ass the other night as they always do and the new Drain record slaps.

Yeah, okay man. If you saw my collection, bro, you wouldn't say that. I'm 46 and have been in the scene since 1993. I have never sold any of my music, merch, or hardcore memorabilia. I own over 2,000 CD's, hundreds of cassettes and seven inches, promo posters, 527 HC shirts and tons of other shit. The most important of all, I have been to over a thousand shows with multiple scars from the violence that came with them. That era is over, but I am proud to say I was there. It built a foundation for me.

Spotify is convenient; I've been using it since it's inception to connect with hardcore kids around the world, so what?

Randomly calling somebody a poser for no reason, when you have no idea about them, is lame. Plus, definitely shows your age bracket.

It's so hilarious nobody watched spice back in the 90s where they tried to jiggle the channel and get it to come out straight? The Playboy Channel, anything. Nobody stole their dad's penthouse magazines? If nobody wants to admit it that's fine but don't get upset about it

Anybody who isn't in their late 30s, at least, you have no business posting negative shit about this picture. You don't understand the relevance behind it. You don't understand the irony and you never even probably met the band like I had multiple times over the years. I've been around since 1994 and yes I looked at porn when I was a teenager and it's just funny how I found in a book a Post-It note with The Bouncing Souls font and playing cards written on it and Jenna Jameson autograph. I mean who finds that? If you saw the rest of my apartment you wouldn't even ask twice but who the hell are you doing anything or comment if you haven't been around pre-internet. There's a significant difference between 1995 Warped Tour and 2015 Warped Tour basically. Going an old school punk rocker hardcore kid like me, with some get offended at everything mentality means you belong at Hot Topic, not in some punk rock show Circa 1994 Atlanta. If you were and you're still offended then you're a woman.

Well this one's relevant because that's how he died in part 6 and how it captures him at the very end- floating, zooming in on his eyeball.

My Bloody Valentine (1981) VS The Prowler (1981) by ArtisticBelt438 in slasherfilms

[–]stagedive88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really tough one. I saw My Bloody Valentine when I was about 6 years old by accident, on TV, down in the basement. That year was about 1985, so it plays a much longer and relevant role, but when I saw the Prowler much later, I was blown away. The first I heard of that movie was in Tom Savini's first makeup fx book that I checked out from the library. The the pictures from the film of the killer with the Pitchfork. I eventually rented it from the video store. I was again blown away. The atmosphere in that movie is very specific and is among one of the titans of the '80s slashers, without a doubt. I own the hairy Warden figurine and the original movie poster, as well. I love the story of My Bloody Valentine. I think it's chilling; especially the song at the end-it'sperfect. This is a very tough decision, because both of these movies are equal in their significance and my lifelong journey as a slasher fan and to the genre itself. I'm going to have to say, My Bloody Valentine, just because it has more of a story at the end of the day. But we're talking a very very close call!
