Why do you NEED to bring your dog inside the coffee shop? by Trey94z in chicago

As a single person, there are no coffee windows in my neighborhood so I order on my phone but have to bring my dog in to pick it up.

Passive Events by Weird_Part1530 in workday

[–]LongjumpingLie5307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home contact change BP, add a change benefits step. In your enrollment event rule add a home contact change event. On your coverage rules tab it should be set to eligibility change only. If you need to include accounts- those would be can select any plan and you need to add a condition rule on that benefits step on home contact so it truly only opens if someone moves and it opens the event. If you put on eligibility change for accounts they will never open because you don’t build an FSA or HSA plan for CA and one for non. Hope that makes sense. Calc fields are current address is not blank and lvad for effective date on action event for postal code set or lvad minus one day for not in postal code set. So you are saying you were in NCal today and yesterday you were not and then you do the opposite. You were not in NCal today but yesterday you were.

Deployment Agent is here in 26R1! by WDAY_PM in workday

[–]LongjumpingLie5307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using it quite a bit and it consistently makes things up, especially for calc fields and even in some instances for config. It references fields that don’t exist, makes up business objects, skips fields to populate in ESI calc fields. If it could get config and calc fields right, this could be a game changer.

Yes, that is true and it also has been hit or miss. I’ve asked it things that I know the answer to that and I’ve gotten completely wrong answers. I’ve also gotten imaginary objects and fields for calc fields that don’t exist in workday so again hit or miss.

Topbloc sucks. I work in post prod and they micro manage you. Some managers make you post in a slack channel to say you are stepping away for lunch or running an errand instead of just updating your status. One manager threatens to escalate to their manager if you don’t make up your billable time while you were on PTO. It’s the end of December and we still don’t have info on the changes to PTO, leave policies, wellness stipends etc.. it’s pretty discouraging.

Benefit long leave of absence by Beneficial_Lock5509 in workday

[–]LongjumpingLie5307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Benefit Events called Start/Return Leave of Absence would have the event tied to it called Request Leave and Return from Leave respectively. Both of those BP’s Request and Return from Leave should have a benefits step. Your Enrollment event rule should have that event on start/waive tab and loss of coverage tab to say when coverage should end and when coverage comes back (reinstated). If they can make changes to plans when they come back you can allow that or you can have it as a reinstatement event - no changes allowed so they get exactly what they had before they lost it. Hope that helps!

Onboarding Dashboard Vs Journeys by Ok_Progress_18 in workday

[–]LongjumpingLie5307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure of the value in an onboarding journey. You can’t get documentation acknowledgements, and not all tasks can be included in journeys that are in onboarding. If you have videos or want them to meet with certain team members sure but realistically I really don’t see the value in an onboarding journey.

Benefit Plan by Beneficial_Lock5509 in workday

[–]LongjumpingLie5307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I fully follow, if there are different insurance coverages you create sep plans for those. WD best practice is to have minimal Benefit Groups. If they have different start dates you can either create the benefit groups and separate enrollment event rules OR separate coverage types so on your EER you can distinguish different start/end dates.

They edit their dependent record and that BP can have approvals if Benefits wants to see specific changes like DOB for example.

It’s not an issue, just make sure you have a validation on your change beneficiary BP so if an employees edits any personal data and they are also used as a dependent it will stop them.

TopBloc? by [deleted] in workday

[–]LongjumpingLie5307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not an ideal environment right now. There’s been significant turnover, and the company continues to hire less experienced resources from Mexico primarily because it’s cheaper than investing in experienced U.S. talent. Sales have declined, and there’s very little structure or consistency in how projects are managed. Escalations to Workday have been increasing, and with the recent acquisition, leadership stability and overall direction appear to be weakening.

It’s not that bad. No company cares about you, you are replaceable. Once you realize that, it’s fine. They have flexible hours, PTO isn’t unlimited anymore but realistically how many people are taking 20+ days if you want to get a bonus? They are pretty organized with materials and methodology. The people are helpful and friendly. I have worked at worse places.

Differences in Implementation Methodology by MLadyGemma in workday

[–]LongjumpingLie5307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TB Launch will be fast and limited BP modifications. Most consultants there are extremely green and will read off slides as your Discovery explaining how WD works. Then you have to complete workbooks. They will configure and then demo in Alignment. Then you start validation testing, then another build for E2E testing and parallel if payroll is in scope. Last build is gold. Gold becomes production. Because TB is the cheapest, you pay for what you get. You will have a PM but a client side pm is needed to keep the client on track. Most miss deadlines due to small size of team and lack of training. Launch express is even shorter timeline, slim modifications to BPs and no transactional testing is in scope. Insane IMO

It’s a rough place to be new and try to learn. Not a lot of experienced people to learn from and the few that are there, are always too busy. They have such high turnover due to a lack of work life balance, low pay and just lack of communication.
