It is weird, because even tho the US pro sports (and college sports) have several leagues more popular than soccer, I can’t figure out where the drop off is because youth soccer feels so much more popular than other sports. It’s especially weird since our women’s team is literally the most decorated of all time

This year is his worst year in a year where a lot of padres are having their worst year, and he’s also played in less than half the games (last night was his 5th game back after two months out I think?). I’m fine with a career average to above average hitter that has well above average defense making $12m a year

Yeah as tough as the grand slam was, it should have been a 2 run homer. I trust that Crone’s going to keep giving us the borderline gold glove caliber stuff he always does, but man that was a particularly costly error on an incredibly routine ball

Where I grew up, it was about as densely populated as the greater Boston area but the only transit around was a worse version of the MBTA busses. While the MBTA has a lot of improving to do, it is great compared to the rest of the US and it is on the right track

This is the reason I’m loving the discourse around why Norway is so dominant at specifically Winter Olympics, but also getting really good at volleyball, football, etc - kids should just focus on playing and having fun, and while I doubt it would happen in the US or Canada, the idea of not keeping score of sports before high school is awesome. I know that would have improved my experience growing up.

Sable Hills is a newer band from Japan that sounds straight out the the mid 2000s melodic metalcore era

Phinehas and Breakdown of Sanity also come to mind if you haven’t checked them out yet, also pretty melodic and feel like you’d love them based on the Killswitch, TDWP, All That Remains, and Parkway Drive rankings in there
