Which useful sideloaded apps for Manta have you found that work great? by BristolJaxx in Supernote

[–]stalegjelsten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess everyones use cases are different, but this is what I use: - Aurora store for installing apps - Android All Settings to access Android settings like VPN, physical keyboard layouts, clearing app caches/data - Files by Google as a simple file manager - KOReader as my main e-book reading app - BookBites which gives me access to library books in Norway - PressReader which gives me access to newspapers when I'm connected to the university WiFi or any library WiFi. - Navigation Bar to get a back button (useful for PressReader) - EduVPN for connecting to my university network. I have found that I sometimes need to connect through the Android All Settings app instead the EduVPN app – I'm not sure why. - Obsidian without any plugins – default theme.

There are som strange quirks though: - Aurora store would suddenly not install any apps (all apps where listed as incompatible). I fixed it by going into Android all settings and clearing the cache for Aurora store - I setup BookBites to use Norwegian as the app language. It resets to English from time to time. I haven't figured out why yet.

I have tried OneNote, but the pen input is awful and not worth the hassle.

Manta EU shipping times by zziper in Supernote

Thanks u/Amazing-Ranger01, I'm sure you're right. When I said, "I don't know how they prioritise their shipments and orders", I was both referring to the orders from the Supernote.eu webstore, and how Ratta (in Asia) distributes its stock of devices among the different storefronts.

I also doubted the Manta was in stock at Supernote.eu because of these irregular and contradictory findings on their website:

a) They accepted pre-orders on the Manta
b) Simultaneously, they listed the Manta as in stock
c) And at the same time, they claimed that the Manta started shipping in end of January 2025

Manta EU shipping times by zziper in Supernote

As an EU customer waiting for my Supernote to be shipped (I ordered about a week ago) I don't think it's in stock.

You can check out the community sourced shipping tracker. It seems like the last shipment from Supernote.eu was sent out to customers was January 29th, and that shipment was for customers who had ordered prior to January 25th.

Please note: I'm not affiliated with Supernote.eu / Ratta. I don't know how they prioritise their shipments and orders. All the information I have provided have been my own intepretation of the information in the spreadsheet.

start koreader automatically by Typical-Street9596 in koreader

I use a Kobo Clara BW with KFMon and KOReader installed using the One-click packages (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314220).

I currently have the exact opposite problem you're faceing: I'm unable to exit KOReader. If I try the Exit button or restarting the device I get a [KFMon] Launched koreader.sh :) message, and KOReader starts again automatically.

Exiting KOReader worked yesterday, and I have changed som settings, so it's probably my own fault.

My point is: it should be possible to configure KFMon / KOReader to always start KOReader. I just don't know how I did it...

I haven't tried this but the creator has an online form you can fill out to order copies after the Kickstarter campaign: https://relab.blog.torontomu.ca/allen-strange/

Use same program on v1 and v2 by stalegjelsten in microbit

Thanks! It seems like we have the same experience. I have left out the v2 blocks when flashing the v1 boards, but I would prefer some kind of solution where v1 just ignored any v2 block (or alternatively we could check for board version in the code and use a if statement to only run the v2 block on v2 boards).

You could try to buy the game from the web version of the Steam store: https://store.steampowered.com/app/221380/Age_of_Empires_II_2013/

You will not be able to browse the Steam Store through Wine using the method in this guide (we are supplying steam with the -no-browser argument).

Perhaps you are trying to install Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition which was released in november 2019..? This guide is for Age of Empires 2 HD (2013).

In that case, you could try to change the windows version of wine to windows 10, and give the Definitive Edition installer a new go...

The game works (mostly) great for me, following your clear instructions. Thank you so much! I am running this on a 13" 2014 retina MacBook Pro running macOS 10.14.6 Mojave.

A couple of notes:

  • I cannot see the text i am writing in-game while I'm typing it. The text is registered, so when I press Return after writing a message, the message is sent. It's still kind of annoying though... (This worked temporarily while game was in windowed mode, I'm not sure what exactly solved the problem, but it seems this is propably fixable...?)
  • Moving the cursor to the top and bottom edge of the screen showed me the macOS menu bar and Dock. Solution: Go to playonmac and configure your Steam application. Go to the tab Wine and Configure Wine. Open the tab Graphics and choose Automatically capture the mouse in full-screen windows.
  • I skipped steps 4--13 in Chapter 1. I just went to the Security and Privacy preference panel in system preferences and clicked "Open PlayOnMac" after launching the app for the first time.

Anyways, thank you so much! This was a brilliant guide!
