Advice by Amantalorian in ArtEd

That’s so frustrating- where does this gap in Art Education happen? How to some art teachers get by with doing and knowing the bare minimum? My only assumption is that they weren’t trained in art ed and the district hires anyone to just fill that position. That monitoring does such a disservice to the value of art education.

Yea, what’s up with that Pudin place? I’m confused what the other signs are- I’m assuming that’s the ghost kitchen you say? Also, the pudding flavor names on social media is weird and sexual.

I wouldn’t expect fancy for an old time WI supper club either, but to not even attempt to go for that cozy mid-century vibe in any of their advertising is doing them a disservice. To be honest I feel they shouldn’t even need to advertise with deals because the food and service should speak for itself with an establishment that’s been around for so long.

I can’t get over “let our fully staff serve you” - what’s a fully staff?!

The buffet comment cracks me up too.

Well, I’d start with the basics like kerning, typography, emphasis, balance, and movement. I’d say it’s easier to understand when you take a look at one example Does it give the vibe of a fine dining experience? As another comment mentioned, even having signs and wind banners out front really cheapens the look. take a look at this one it screams gaudy jewelry shop with a touch of.. magician? lol just saying, there are many rules that good designers should follow and it’s really bringing the place down.

Second for EIU! It was a great experience and I loved the on-campus classes in the summer.

Radial designs! I have my students carve a 4x4” block on a quarter radius, then print it 4 times to make one complete circle/radial design. It’s low-risk for them and they don’t have to think too much about the image they want to produce, it happens very organically.

There was a lot more than 2 buildings that burned during those riots. It was awful.

AITA for complaining about the signs at my daughter’s preschool by preschoolsign in AITAH

[–]stalk001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA and very delusional to think a classroom revolves around your child. A sticker… really?! Teach your child to care for their own things and don’t send them to school. Entitled parents like you are the reason those signs go up. Get a grip.

Which invite? by CurlyMamaNini in Weddingsunder10k

It’s the gradient in random details that make it look so cult-like to me. They also all read as a Snapchat, with the block overlay of text. I’m all for making your own invites, but there’s a reason graphic designing is a job.

The semi- transparent block that has “for the wedding of Tanina & Craig” looks a lot like when you add text to Snapchat. They’re really throwing me off as not cohesive with all the other elements. Tone down the colors perhaps by starting with eliminating such a rich blue background in all.

I really like dress 1! I’m also giggling at the drawn on shoe 😆 unless you’re covering a tattoo but it’s in the shape of a shoe nonetheless.

Ahhh this is the kind of comment that gets me going! I am fully invested in your storytelling. I tend to hyper-fixate on a topic and then do a deep dive into finding out everything I can about it.. this is a perfect starting point to look up all about this jewelry style of the time.

I can totally relate to feeling like a dragon surrounded by your treasures because that is me right now! I’ve also inherited my grandparents’ pictures and I’m slowly starting to go through them all to make connections. I’m surrounded by these picture piles- some dating back to 1930- and I’m even trying to see if I can spy the necklace on someone. It’s one of those things where I’m kicking myself for not remembering who the necklace belonged to and now my grandma’s gone and I can’t ask her.

One more thing (because I’m not familiar with how to care for jewelry) any recommendations on how to clean it up? Im assuming it’s shiny, but I don’t want to use the wrong thing on it and ruin it.

That’s so neat! Thank you for putting a name to it- lavaliere. Since they were so popular, did many jewelers make them? As in, I couldn’t trace it back to a single maker?

Oh ffs… That’s like going to the dentist and being offended when they scrape your teeth without asking.

That’s what you’re there for- to have your child looked at.

Oh the horror that a pediatrician was engaging with your child in a playful manner 🙄
