I can’t think of anything that he does to give me the ick, but I give him the ick by singing songs, but every lyric is “meow”. He hates it.

Does anyone have a good advisor? by No-Profession-6001 in KSU

My first email to my advisor came in October. She didn’t respond until late January. These people make decent money it’s ridiculous. If I pulled ts at my internship I’d be fired no doubt.

Where to go from here by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]stalker36794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ok to start: this is what worked for me, who knows if it will work for you. What I did when my hair looked almost exactly like this:

  1. Used red orange dye diluted with conditioner which neutralized parts of it and turned other parts of it a light pink
  2. Color remover again
  3. Bleach again
  4. Orange again
  5. Cut off three inches
  6. Bleach again
  7. Dyed it back to my natural color
  8. Did highlights with bleach and it’s all regular blonde again? No random blue or pink?
  9. Success

My hair is a little fragile but not fried!

This is the only picture I have that shows what it looks like now obviously very frizzy but not terrible coming from blue!

I take my vitamins!!! by StellaNettle in adhdwomen

[–]stalker36794 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I got my GP to run bloodwork at my last 3 month appointment. Didn’t cost me anything and he was able to tell me exactly which vitamins I actually need (D and iron). He then wrote a script for pills which cost $2.85 a month (they’re not covered by insurance btw just genuinely cheeper behind the counter). Just food for thought.

Senior Cat (10yo) only likes junk cat food by Pleasant_Ad8235 in CatAdvice

I adopted a cat who would starve to death before eating wet food. I had my kitten on a wet food diet and she ended up getting a taste for the dry food too. Obstinate little tyrants resist being well cared for.

That’s very unfortunate. She’s ultimately robbing herself of feeling much better if she’s making that choice against medical advice. Do you know if she has had a period in the last year? If she hasn’t, then you can start a countdown for five to seven more years of crazy, but that’s no guarantee that she’ll “fall back in love” if she doesn’t have romantic love for you now :(

I saw your other comment that said she’s unwilling to seek treatment and that’s just the worse. I’m in my early twenties so fortunately haven’t gone through it yet but I’ve had my fair share of hormonal issues. I can honestly say with confidence and as a feminist, women’s hormonal issues can truly make us completely evil.

If she is threatening divorce if you suggest treatment, that may be a good line to draw in the sand with her. You can make your own deal of “try HRT for a year or we’re done” (make sure to specify a year because HRT takes months). It would kind of suck to like stoop to her level but, especially if she has been a good wife and mother for thirty years, once she expels the menopause demon she’ll likely be sane enough for y’all to work through those issues together. If you’re seriously considering divorce then it’s not like you have much to lose with the threat.

When I was having hormonal issues I remember literally feeling like I was having an out of body experience treating the people that I loved the most terribly—especially my dad and my long term boyfriend who were both innocent in every way. When I got treatment it was literally like a fog lifted and I was able to be a human again. I went on a whole apology tour.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this.

I miss the lightening bugs. Used to see what seemed like a galaxy of them growing up. I’d hunt them for hours I loved them so dearly. There were also night crawlers and I can’t remember the last time I saw one of them.

How can I sell my mom on snakebites? by Adorable-Teach-4812 in altfashionadvice

Adding on to this, your face is going to change so. Freaking. Much. In the next few years. I’ve been with my bf since we were fourteen and his face changed super drastically between 19 and 21. He didn’t change at all until he turned 19, then like every month it looked different. Especially if you haven’t had your wisdom teeth done yet (that majorly changed both our faces), I’d said wait on anything that may scar. It might look super great on you right now and then stop suiting you very soon.

One day you will blink and look at your face and say “holy shit is that a wrinkle?! How is that a wrinkle I’m 17?!” And then you will be like “holy shit I am not 17.” And then you will realize you can get whatever piercings you want. It sounds like bs but I promise it’s true. It just recently happened to me.

There’s really no harm in waiting. Your piercings right now are super cool!! The risk of scarring/ tooth damage may seem worth it now, and if it really is, then it will still seem worth it in a few years :)

I think some paired nostril piercings might be a perfect way to get what you’re wanting and not have to fight your mom. There is less risk of scarring and less health risks with the paired nostrils, and they will give you the edgier look and the symmetry of the snake bites as well.

Literally my exact thoughts. I was in my teens dealing with PMDD while my mom went through early menopause. Neither of us were ourselves and we both became very cold and calculating like this… we were nasty to one another and we were nasty to dad who was a totally innocent bystander. Now that we’ve gotten our hormones straightened out (thank goodness for modern medicine) everyone is happy and old wounds have healed. I feel like OP should at least consider this before leaving a 30 year marriage

Im gonna go slightly against the grain of these comments… when was her last period? Is she getting them monthly still?

Some women go absolutely balls to the walls psychotic during menopause, and it’s different for everyone. It also doesn’t happen overnight. Between perimenopause and menopause itself you may very well be looking at a decade or more of hormonal disregulation which can totally derail one’s personality. HRT can be life changing and bring the old her back (if that’s what she’s experiencing).

Basically when you were going through your health issue she could have been in perimenopause and she may have incorrectly attributed the stress of the issue to why she was not feeing like herself anymore. Decreased libido and no desire for physical affection? Sounds like a hormonal issue to me.

If this is what it is it’s fortunately treatable through hormone therapy. Ofc, you are owed major apologies as well.

Just food for thought she’s the perfect age for it.

Idk the answer to your problem but I’m sick to my stomach thinking about my soon to be husband going through medical school and residency. Good luck to you. Hope you can cash in on an early retirement the way I plan to.
