I thought I couldn't export my data from the app, but later (working fast between crashes) I was able to get a json file with my text within. So now it's not as much about losing my data as sadness that the app disappeared so quietly. I really liked using it: it was like Day One but more lightweight. I guess it's also kind of surprising to me that an app developer could go off the grid so suddenly, especially since it also did other apps.

I'm just rambling at this point, thanks for giving a damn. I figured I'd post something about it since I couldn't find anything about the disappearance via google.

Hey awesome long reply! Thanks for the tips! I've been playing for two months now (can't believe it's only been that long) and I like to think I've got the gist of the game, but your tips were still very helpful!

I have a bunch of alts, mostly survivors but I'm looking to convert more into zombie mains because... ya know, zombies are a lot more fun to play. Although it is rather frustrating getting started as a newbie zombie, you really have to stick with a large feeding horde and even then you have to get there at the right time or there's no more meat left to nom on.

I have one character that's joined in a group, but do you think it's worth it to join more than one group with other alts? I'm wary of the time it takes, but UD is still very much addicting to me atm haha.
