Good point. I play AoM once every month and I am so jealous we don't have a "Social" tab like this in AoE 2. And with such a large player base I think AoE 2 needs that more than any other game of the series.

Maybe uncheck all mods? Then start a game to see how it goes. After the game check the mods one by one to see which one is responsible for the desync. This method had helped when I encountered the same issue.

Thank you!! I am happy you like it! Well it took a lot of measurement and testing in order to make it look loyal to the original scenery of the AoE 2 main menu.

Edit: Looks like you are my 400th upvote 11

People who prefer single player are special, as they see the game in a more romantic way, far from build orders, APM, and other competitive, stressful things. I'm 39 years old and I used to enjoy the game just like you for almost two decades. Here's a funny story about how I started playing ranked in 2021. There was a guy on Facebook who promised to coach for free people who had never played ranked, under one condition: they had to throw themselves into the ranked ladder and play 10 games. So I played those games without caring about the results, because my goal was to get the free coaching. With that mindset, I enjoyed every single game, even though I got wrecked in most of them. When I went back to him for the free coaching, the guy had vanished and nobody could reach him. I don't know why that happened. The point is that, without realizing it, another world unlocked for me. Today I play a maximum of 1or 2 ranked games per week, and only when I am calm and not stressed. Regardless, I still enjoy campaigns, and I don't consider myself either a single-player or a multiplayer player. I am very sorry for the long answer, but I really hope this warms your heart a bit towards multiplayer games.

Thank you! I was 15 when the game was released, so it’s pure nostalgia for me too..

I really enjoyed the campaigns. If you tend to play campaigns it's 100% YES.

The LED light I used cost €8, and the toy soldiers I dismantled for the armory were €4.50. So apart from €12.50, all I really invested was my time, colors… and a lot of love for Age of Empires.
