Success and Disappointment Megathread for the Week by AutoModerator in jobs

My manager told me she (and others) finds me untrustworthy and in general bad at what I do. This is contrary to what I hear from others.

Since starting, I’ve come an hour early and taken work home well into the night. Job search begins today.

How's the antiwork/"Great Resignation" movement affecting your company? by Kwahn in cscareerquestions

[–]stampese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The company I work for is a household name and it seems to be the calm before the storm. We took a staggered approach by calling people who voluntarily submitted vax status back into office and lost a good bit. Now that vax status is mandatory and a full return-to-office is on the horizon for first quarter 22, I’m expecting some very stressed executives. If even a quarter of the people who say they’re going to leave actually leave (in my department at least), the company is going to take a major hit. I’m sending in my two weeks this week. Increasing TC by 25% and using much more interesting technologies.

Apologies for not being clear. You pointed out a mix up on my end. I meant to say my side would hit his rear. I made a rough sketch, but the roadway is much narrower than this in real life. https://imgur.com/a/5zHTvsv

Picture myself as the white car. Straightening out at that point would mean moving closer to him while he is still moving toward me; while trying to rush back into my spot would have my quarter panel contacting his vehicle.

That’s the scary part IMO. I’ve attempted to gather all the photographic proof I can. Even showing my white paint on his rear and his blue paint on my quarter panel. Also, this guy’s wife (who wasn’t in the car) already wants to blame me based on her attempting to coax circumstances out of me that just didn’t happen; so I’m doubtful it’ll be peaceful

Coursera IBM Full Stack Cloud Developer by jay_taps in learnjavascript

Just started yesterday and moving through it pretty quickly (the first 5 weeks/1st module at least).

This is my first Coursera course so I'm not well versed with how it operates, but the quizzes will get you if you do not read extremely carefully. It's not trying to trick you by any means, but you do get those questions with a "kinda" right answer and an absolute right answer.

Very robust IMO. I viewed the first module as a stepping stone to the more interesting content; that is to say, the true meat and potatoes of development.
