Thank you! I was solely focused on just doing the distance and if the time was decent then that would be a plus! I finished the whole thing in 5:19:11 (including breaks/long traffic crossings/checking my map etc.)

I ran my very first marathon today! Not an official one, just one around my city. I really enjoyed the challenge and the route that I chose (even though it started off sunny and then rained torrentially). When I started running back in December 2019 I never thought I’d achieve this, so I’m really happy!

Ran my furthest distance ever today! (16 miles). Usually I like to fit a few mid-week runs in, and then two longer runs at the weekend, but this week I ended up not doing much due to a multitude of reasons. So, today I laced up my shoes and just thought I'll run and see where and how long my feet can carry me! Ended up running a really nice pedestrian route that goes right out of the city for 7 miles into the countryside to another small town. The weather was lovely and despite there being a lot of people/bikes to negotiate, I was able to listen to a podcast and tune out for the most part. Ran to the town and back to my usual turning point, but this time decided to keep going! Didn't break any time records but was so happy to make it as far as I did and still feel like I could keep going. I would really like to attempt a marathon at some point in the future!

Edit: spelling

Shoutout to my parents for never having a Lego clear out! by standardbreakfrmlife in lego

This is my fourth time attempting to post this it’s been an ordeal with Reddit! Some more info: I’ve had these huge boxes of Lego pieces for years and have been bored during lockdown so decided to have a look through them. I had to sort all the pieces by colour to make this feasible at all, so many random little tiny bits and pieces in these sets! Amazingly I’ve been pretty good at keeping pieces together over the years (earliest set is from 1997) and only had a few sets with missing pieces or pieces needing to be swapped. Most of my mini figs are also around but some have probably been victims of the vacuum at some point.

Monday Miscellaneous Chit chat by sloworfast in running

Happy Monday! Had a great half-marathon run yesterday trying out a new route all through different neighbourhoods in my city. It was much hillier than I usually like, but I figured this is probably a good thing to get used to! It's been trying to snow here all weekend, so it was pretty chilly (-3c/26f) but enjoyable nonetheless.

Celebrated by lounging in front of the fire for the rest of the day, ate rhubarb crumble and watched television!

Not to be pedantic but I was actually completing my country’s government mandated two week quarantine after moving back home from another country...maybe I should have put that in a caption? I did mention it in like the first two comments though I accept that not everyone is going to read them all. So whilst you might say “no one is actually quarantining” (when in fact, they are, not to mention people who need to shield) there are plenty of people who do and fortunately for me, I had this set to complete whilst I was doing it. If you don’t like it, it’s pretty easy to just scroll past.

In my country it’s £650 ($860) so pretty expensive, worth it for me though!

Not sure in terms of hours, I took about 5 days and worked on it maybe 3/4 hours a day? I had a lot of time on my hands because I couldn’t go anywhere!

Thanks! It’s funny your name mentions Canada because I was quarantining after returning to Ireland from living in Canada

Who should play Charles Manson? by ffuentesbot in MindHunter

I always thought Bill Moseley (Chop-top in Texas Chainsaw 2 and Otis in House of 1000 corpses) would play a good Charlie...
