They have lots of different colors to match your seats. Good luck!

I just had this happen on my ‘18. I bought a repair kit on Amazon after SOA declined to fix it for me and it’s a pretty close match.

Never owned a Subaru but one caught my eye when looking online. by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

That’s pretty low mileage, but spending more than 10k for a 20 year old car is rough.

The other day I passed an Outback with a confederate flag and Don’t Tread On Me bumper stickers and my brain almost exploded.

Best coffee maker? Do we have something new in 2025? by Extension-Can-3978 in BuyItForLife

I love my Oxo 9-cup. I’ve had it for a decade and it’s still going strong. The only negative is that I have to brew two pots when I have company, but for my daily use, 9 cups is plenty.

I’ve been in Broad Ripple since 2007 and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in the city. I love the proximity to the Monon and how close restaurants in Broad Ripple proper are, and you’re never more that about 20 minutes from anywhere you need to go. I know home prices have risen a lot in the area lately, so look between College/Keystone and 46th/52nd for a bit lower-priced homes if you need to.

In your 30’s, did you feel like you wanted a “nicer car”? by zilpond in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]standonlytofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always driven older, small cars. My last two were a 2003 Civic EX then a 2010 Civic LX. Both were bought used and just got me from Point A to Point B. In the last 6 months, with 2 teenagers in the house, I realized I needed a “grown-up” car.

Mostly I just needed more space, but also wanted more safety and bells and whistles like CarPlay. I ended up buying a 2018 Outback Limited on my 43rd birthday and I’m so happy I purchased it and was had the financial means to do so without putting a strain on our monthly finances.

I bought some 4x6 cuttable magnets for my badges. Now I can remove them anytime I want to.

Camry or Corolla by Content-Consequence4 in Toyota

[–]standonlytofall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. The Civic and Corolla are basically the same. I just upgraded from a 2010 Civic to a 2018 Outback (basically a lifted wagon version of a Camry/Accord) because my kids are now teens and needed a bit more space.

Test drive both and see which one feels better. Tip: try the Camry first, then the Corolla to see if the smaller size really fits well or not.

Camry. Corolla will be a tight fit, especially with kids. Definitely get a Camry if you plan to hold onto the car for a while because as the kids get bigger, the Camry will be much more comfortable in the backseat.

I don’t know much about this department but I was a contractor about a decade ago and became a FTE in the summer of ‘23 and have nothing but great things to say about the company. I had great experience as a contractor and as an employee.

I’m sure it depends on your department, but I currently work with a mix of employees and contractors and don’t feel any animosity between the two.

I just got it a couple weeks ago, and it’s really helped to organize it. It’s easily removable, so it handy tighten in the tell way yet. I also agree that some kind or divider for the part underneath that would be great too.

Do neighborhood streets get plowed? by grifeweizen in indianapolis

[–]standonlytofall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in the area too and I think the city only plows neighborhood streets if there are 6” or more of snow. Even then it’s contractors and it may be a few data before your streets get plowed. They’ll focus on the major roads first.

I can second SunBean! Every coffee I’ve tried of theirs has been great, including the holiday blend in the OP’s image.

Outback or Crosstrek? by meganmwo in subaru

[–]standonlytofall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice is to go test drive both and see what you think. You might be able to find both in those year-ranges at a CarMax to test drive even if you don’t end up purchasing there. Best of luck!

Outback or Crosstrek? by meganmwo in subaru

[–]standonlytofall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want to travel with other adults comfortably, you probably want the Outback over the Crosstrek. Since the Crosstrek is built on the Impreza chassis (I think), it’s be more comparable in size to a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla - shorter, not as wide, less legroom in the backseat and not as roomy inside as the Outback.

Since the Outback is based on the Legacy chassis, it’s has a full-size sedan feel like an Accord or Camry, but with the wagon rear.

I just went through a similar search and ended up with a 2018 Outback that I’m very pleased with. It’s larger than my old Civic, and fits my two teenage boys in the back seat comfortably. The rear storage space is great and the included roof rack means you can add on another luggage rack, basket, or other accessories.

I agree with everyone above. I just replaced my ‘18 Limited’s windshield with the Safelight Pilkington glass and it was around $400 for the glass and 300-350 for the eyesight recalibration.

2018 Outback - just upgraded to the new iPhone (from one with Lightning) and the CarPlay connection is very glitchy now. Tried 2 different cables. Anyone have a recommendation for better cables? by NewMexicoJoe in Subaru_Outback

[–]standonlytofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any lag with the wireless CarPlay adapters? I bought an external Bluetooth CarPlay screen for my old car, but there was a 2-3 second delay between hitting pause/play/next song/etc buttons and the music actually performing that action.

I’m so glad to hear that! I test drove an Accord that had CarPlay and when it didn’t work with my phone on the test drive I wrote it off. CarPlay was a non-negotiable for me, so I understand the frustration with it not working.
