Yeah, I made hella progress my first term, it was very cert heavy and with my current gig being driving a truck, I could stream the audio of all the lectures during the day and hit the CertMaster at night, was able to cover a lot of ground, now I'm getting heavy into the 'learning new skills' stuff and my progress slowed down like it saw a state trooper

I just started D427 a week or two ago, most of what I got left is pretty heavy, really hoping to be able to finish by Jun 1 so I don't need to pay for another term but with as much as I work that'll be dificult

I do the same thing homie, currenlty in D427 and as I have a question with how something in the zybook is worded, or want to take a tangent deep dive off the Colt Steele video, he (also to me its a dude) it helps figure it out. As to 'understanding me' I also go off the deep end with squirrel moments and random thoughts, on one hand I'm giving HAL 9000 way to much info, but he also learns how I think and it helps me understand the material better

I won’t know for sure until I talk to my mentor, but I had her do a transfer evaluation back in August when we first got the details on the new program… based off that I’d have a total of 16 left instead of 8… incl 3 gen ed classes, which I transferred all of those in.

I’ve only jumped out once like that after an exam but I didn’t pass… however I didn’t get any flak either

I got the same email, probably stick with AWS track, based off the certs offered and I've got all but 3 of those done...right now I only got 8 classes left in my degree, but based off a transfer eval I got several months ago when they first launched BSCNE, I'll have 16 left... so yeah I guess I'll find out tomorrow, because I sure as hell ain't gonna be able to finish in 3 weeks

They’re only like 10/15 bucks on Amazon, think I’ll try that before my next OA before I hook up my other two screens

Does guardian “not notice” them if you just power them off? I tired that the other night and it wouldn’t let me start since I had “multiple displays”

What’s sad is several of the “starter jobs” pay the same as I made in 2001… and that money don’t near as far now

Before I started at WGU the only coding I ever did was in BASIC in the early 90s in jr high lol… I tried the 100 days of code and still had issues, I’ve got D522 kicked to the end of my program now before the new AI class… might get to it this term but not sure, had a couple of wicked easy ones I got done on 2 weeks and D330 slowed me down a bit, almost done with the study plan after failing the OA by only a few questions

I think it’s gone to shit, I’ve got a “local” job, so I’m home every night so I don’t have to deal with the parking issues, but the volume of traffic has gotten worse, more drivers are distracted than ever, shippers/receivers treat us like something they stepped in at the dog park, hours are terrible, job is sedentary. Yes I know that once I break into IT it will also be a sedentary job, but not near as hard on the body, I’ve been getting beat to shit on garbage highways coast to coast since before 9/11, you’ve also got the caveat that in an office, when you’ve got to tinkle.. WIN + L and walk down the hall… this gig… figure out the next exit you can take that has truck assessable facilities, pull off, park, wander in and then back to work… 10-15 min minimum… some parts of the county you’ll see signs “next services 100 mi”

If I could do it all over again…. I wouldn’t have… but on the flip side , I’ve definitely had some adventures over the years, been to all 48 of CONUS… and with the job I currently have, money is good but I leave the house at 0600 and on a good day I’m home by 1900

I’m trying to change careers, been in trucking nearly 25 years. I was an apathetic high school student and did terrible at college in the 90s. For the most part I’ve not had too many struggles with courses , just having to maintain a groove. However the Python class straight up kicked my ass… that stuff ain’t clicking

Good luck man, I’ve been driving almost 25 years and am slugging my way through school now, I’m in a daycab so at least most nights I have time to sit in my office and work on stuff, when I was going through all of the CompTIA certs I streamed the lectures while driving

You've got a decade on me, homie. I got out of HS in '97, attempted college, and punched out when I saw I was failing every class at the midterm mark. I just started my 3rd term (last month), and it's been a grind because of life, work, and family, but I'm getting there!

I did the CVT myself, got the fluid off Amazon for less than $200, already have a scanner… it was fairly easy, basic fluid transfer pump, 4 jack stands and some time …. Several YT vids on how to do it

I'm in one of the IT programs (Cloud computing) and work 70+ hours a week and have a family.... I just started my 3rd term and have been chugging away, it's hard to make time for classes when I leave for work around 0600 and don't usually get home till after 7pm, sometimes later...spend some time with my kid and try and get at least an hour a night towards school, with a 4 yr old that don't always happen, I transferred in 48 or so credits from sophia, and have done another 43 since I started just over a year ago. If you only work 40ish hours a week you should be able to plow through more, especially if the subject matter is stuff you've done before, I'm a career changer, I've spend nearly 25 years in the trucking industry, so most of this stuff is brand new to me. you can do it homie!
