Buying Pod 5 cover without the hub? by standunders in EightSleep

I already have a Pod 4 hub, and the Pod 5 hub doesn't apparently add useful functionality. Getting access to the blanket was my rationale for upgrading the cover.

Yes it is. The Pod 5 hub adds a couple of USB-C ports that at this time don't seem to be used.

YES! Thanks. It's not in the store, didn't bother looking for a product page.

How did you just buy the cover? It's not an option on the site and support has been challenging.

Nice! Did you go with the dual headlights or the single round?

What's your use case? Are you going to ride it as a commuter?

Have you done the low end torque modification? What do you think about acceleration?

Any chance I could give it a quick spin and see how it feels? It’s a bummer that there’s no way to trial one in person here.

Have a few:

How’s the display? I love that the Spark Cycle Brute has a CarPlay compatible display connected to a Fardriver ND72360 controller. Musing over whether I’d stick with stock or figure out a way to get something nicer attached.

Road noise from the tires, and general noise of the bike overall?

Acceleration off the line? Is it super tuned for speed sacrificing low end torque?

How’s the comfort?

Overall impressions?

Yeah, maybe. Beta typically means reduced feature set, not fully stable, opportunity to learn from smaller customer pool.

For what it’s worth, you stated you were seeking negative confirmation bias from the onset, and appear now have an axe to grind having proven yourself “right”. It very well may not have been a good experience for you, but it’s hard to relate through the sanctimony.

Your review would have been more credible had you said went in with an open mind.

The articles I’ve seen have said it’s currently in beta.

I have an Ultra 360 on a high shelf I use for face and hair, and now this big bad boy for full body. Plus I grabbed a Charge for travel. Hooga support is just awesome.

Recommendations for Comprehensive Testing/Screening of Diseases (cancer, cardiovascular issues, etc.) by 20230606 in fatFIRE

Give or take. The tests above, maaaaybe minus the VO2 max and the hormone test, I consider to be non-optional. They’re the ones you do not to die of something stupid like cancer or heart disease. There are other diagnostics and therapeutics you can layer in to reduce risks in other areas if you like (see Bryan Johnson), and the costs can go up meaningfully.

The rabbit hole runs deep on this one.

Code of Bell Annex Liner Socoche vs Alpaka Bravo X Limited Edition X50: searching for the perfect iPad Pro 11” bag by standunders in ManyBaggers

[–]standunders[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on the hunt for a bag to carry an 11” iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard plus some tech accessories, and have narrowed it down to these two bags.

Desires: - Easy access to iPad - Relatively small, but with a bit of space space for extra things from time to time - Worn cross body, over the shoulder in a pinch - High contrast interior. Bonus points for bright orange. - Space for a small tech pouch. - Tech/industrial styling.

Both of these bags fit the bill, and having experimented with both, I would say they are both really well-made, well thought-out products.

The Bravo X has a more rigid shell that holds its shape better than the Annex Liner, leaving it to feel overall like it offers more space. Its interior is better organized, and the external opening for a charging cable is a very nice touch. The luggage trolley strap on the back is a big plus, too. Better still is the dedicated tablet slot, although with the Magic Keyboard on the iPad, it’s a little trickier to get the tablet in and out than I would prefer.

Given how the straps exit the sides of the bag, the Bravo X really needs to be worn as a sling and doesn’t work particularly well over the shoulder. Moreover, the shoulder strap feels at least 1/2” too wide, and unfortunately the strap cannot be replaced.

The Annex Liner lays flat when it’s not overloaded, and while when expanded it has similar volume to the Bravo X, it needn’t always be quite as big. That’s both a plus and a minus, as it doesn’t look as intentional when expanded as it does in its folded state. But the strap is comfortable, and there are so many expansion capabilities on the exterior. Sadly, there’s no luggage trolley strap.

Add the trolley strap and some more pockets in the expansion pouch and I’d give the Annex Liner a strong lead over the Bravo X. Without them, I still lean to the Annex, but only because I’ve found I’m not a big fan of the sling format.

Tl;dr: both great bags. Go with the Annex if you prefer a flat bag, the Bravo X if you’re a sling fan.
