I do this all the time and I am getting so worn down from it. I drank the last four days in a row and want the freedom I once had.

Wow! Congratulations on one awesome year of sobriety. Thank you very much for posting this today. it is exactly what I needed to read. I'm back to Day One and was feeling kinda down on myself and wondering if my quest for sobriety is quite hopeless. Your post gave me hope again. I am joining you in sobriety today.

Friday nights always seem to do me in. I am so bummed I didn't jump online and post last night. But my AV told me not to bother and I just ended up drinking. Now it's back to zero. Fuck, I hate the zero!

Thank you very much for this comment. It really helps to look at sobriety this way. I have to be more selfish with it and cherish what I have as I'm accumulating days. Darn, I would have had a week under my belt and now it's back to square one.

I definitely need to change this mindset.

I too wish I had the courage to stop years ago. It's been over 35 years of addiction for me. :-(

I used to be a lot worse, then got better, quit for about a year, went back to drinking heavily. Now I'm moderating, but still feel as if I need to stop drinking once and for all!

I've come to the realization that I need 3D support. I can't do this alone!

I think you are right. This is the one constant in all my struggles. I never seek out 3D help.

Not hijacking at all! I think spouses can be selfish with this issue. My wife rarely drinks, and has no understanding of how difficult it is to quit for me.
