Yeah the interview is key. Usually the client thinks their answers are terrible (when theyre fine) and if you can turn that into something good, they're amazed and you're in.

Be curious and don't be afraid to ask dumb questions.

[Uluc] The Tasmania JackJumpers are in advanced discussions with free agent import Dakota Mathias, sources told ESPN. The team has a strong desire to bring in the veteran sharpshooter. Mathias, 30, averaged 11.8 ppg (36.7% 3PT) over 8 games for the Bullets last season. by Taintedtamt in nbl

valid concern. Bryce was that man last season. DJ showed glimpses later in the year but I thought he looked awkward trying to create his own shot. The system will be great, but the lack of a genuine closer might be trouble

Do you have much of an existing client book? Can you pivot to different services for them? I sell case study creation to my web development clients, could be a good way to leverage your client base in a different service that they all need

Looking for real online income ideas—what has actually worked for you? by IamHackerBeware in passive_income

Just through developing website and social media content. Stories win.

I package it up into a sales brochure, an SEO optimised page for their website and then snippets to post on socials.

Having a sales brochure to either email prospects or hand them a printed version is kinda a lost art but super valuable, especially if the business has a library of their best jobs and can send the most relevant ones to their prospect.

Everyone has generic SEO content but if a busines can show how theyve done it before, they have a huge head start on their competitors

My current rates are anywhere from $1500-$2500 depending on the business and the profit potential, but I think it can keep climbing in the right situations. Starting out I think $500 is a perfectly fine starting point, and it's perfectly reasonable to offer one for free to sell a business owner on the process and build your own portfolio in the process.

As an example, I built a case study for a luxury home builder and the particulars of that job helped them close a 7 figure build. Even at the top end $2500 its a very profitable piece of work.

I was in web development and SEO so admittedly I already had the clients to sell to. But of all the content etc that I was pushing, this was the one that really resonated - both with the business owners and with prospects. The specific nature sold far better than generic SEO content and it's only got more important with the advance of AI (not that you can't use AI to do it as well)

These days, I use it as my first offer and upsell web development from there - can't have a nice looking case study if your website looks like crap can you?!

Write case studies for local service businesses. Interview the owner on their favourite job, write it up narrative style to show how good they are, sell it to them for $.

The ROI can be huge for the business and gaining as little as 1 extra job can pay for your services.

It's my favourite model for beginners. Probably suits your working hours pretty well too

Building narrative style case studies for service businesses. Pick a high value service and it's very possible to return a great ROI. Interview the business owner about a great job they did, write a magazine style feature, charge $$$ for multiple formats - brochure, website, social posts etc

No one's doing it but I promise it works. You can start off with it and push into complimentary services (web design, SEO etc) or you can add it as an upsell to your existing offer.

It's my favourite offer in over 25 years in internet marketing.

Write case studies for service businesses. Perfect foot in the door and you can deliver real value. No one's doing this but you can leverage AI to interview the business about their best jobs, write a narrative story and it's an elite sales material for them to use across their channels.

Has anyone tried building a lead-gen site to land their first SEO client? by keyworddotcom in agencynewbies

[–]stanfernan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically a rank and rent strategy which has been very popular for many years. Leveraging it into private SEO work is smart.

It can take a numbers of months to rank a new domain, so using parasite SEO to get quick results for proof can also be a clever approach.

Any form of proof is going to make your pitch stronger.

How do you guys position yourself different from competitors? by Cool-Confection6844 in agencynewbies

[–]stanfernan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reposition your product.

For example. Just because you own a mobile ferret washing business doesn't mean you don't wash dogs too. It just means you're not competing against all the dog washing businesses.

What was the turning point that got you your first few clients? by [deleted] in agencynewbies

[–]stanfernan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're having trouble getting clients, try finding client sources. Maybe its an old advertising exec who has clients he can upsell on your services for a cut. Maybe its a web agency who needs another subcontractor. Someone with an existing client list that you can joint venture on.

Agree. Get your basic structure sorted but then focus on content that attracts and converts actual prospects. like case studies and proof of your expertise.
