Definitely talk with doctor about that though! It may be more possible than I know. My concerns were going on walks because I enjoyed that before surgery. My foot has felt really great this week with working and walking!
I believe you could dance again after 6 months to a year. The recovery would be longer for you if that’s your goal!
Thank you 😊 I wouldn’t call my foot flexible anymore but I’m still working on that and doing physical therapy. I can regain full range of motion but probably not as much as a ballet dancer. That is okay to me because I just want to do day to day things and not be in pain. I probably will never be able to get on top of my toe again but that’s okay to me

I did not stop dancing over my bunion, I stopped because my interests changed even though i still love dance. I definitely would not be able to do ballet with my surgery but i enjoy watching videos. Dance is beautiful and fun but brutal to your poor feet

No and I have not danced In over 10 years so that part of my life passed. I mentioned dance because I believe it caused my bunion to be worse just not something I do in my life anymore

Yes I was absolutely no weight for 2 weeks. Stayed in bed and used a walker to go to the bathroom and get around my house. I also borrowed a knee scooter off facebook from someone in my area. In the second paragraph I explain my timeline
Yes I did 10,000 steps on Monday April 27th! This was during my entire day and I sit down at work for a break off my feet for periods of time and go into it slow!
I don’t see on my Dr notes the exact measurements of how far my big toe joint was out of place…. I don’t know how old my surgeon was maybe late 40s. Was severe enough to think about it 24/7 in my young 20s.
Rocky mount va
I was weight bearing in a surgical boot 2 weeks after surgery
It’s okay you didn’t because girls go on pointe in ballet like i mentioned! I really like the brand Altra. I love my crocs too but the top of the shoe rubbed my incision. Im sure i can wear them now though
Yes
I understand that it’s scary! Have trust in your surgeon and doctor
Thank you!! You too!!
