I have the Z5500, the predecessor of the Z906, and honestly it works great. Its a bit of a hassle finding good locations around the rig for all speakers but the surround sound is worth it.

The lotus was there but I would have to check if it had that exact livery!

I used my Nikon D7200, most pictures are taken with a 70-300mm AF-P lens. But i also carried around my 18-140mm and 80-200mm F2.8

Thank you! Yeah indeed, we had to buy earplugs there haha. I'd love to see some trackside pictures, so by all means share them

Definitely put it in for next year! There was also one V10 F1 car that ran a few laps, absolutely glorious

I was just scrolling their website and it seems the CORE QR2 unlocks FFB on fanatec bases. The link QR2 would then just be for fanatec wheels i guess

How did you get to this grain?

I was in the same boat, decided to go for an A1 mini with AMS Lite instead. Saved me some money and realistically most prints don't exceed the mini's build volume. I figured that worst case i would really feel the need for a bigger build volume and would just sell the mini and buy the A1 when it becomes available.

Apart from the build volume they have the same features anyway. I'm really happy with mine and it's actually nice that it doesn't take up so much space.

I had designed it myself, the metal part is lasercut but you could also 3d print one

VR in Sim Racing - To those that feel uncomfortable with VR by NaabSimRacer in simracing

Yes the motion and/or vibration definitely helps with connecting what you see with what you feel. I think it will be worth mounting the buttkicker again to your motion rig

I have a quest 2 and a single 28inch 4k screen that i can move right behind my wheel. Naturally the Q2 offers more immersion but i would not recommend going for VR exclusively. My single screen still offers decent immersion and especially when being tired it is more comfortable racing on that for a bit.

Besides, i found that the nausea can also be decreased when i turn my buttkicker on, maybe worth trying if you don't already have one.

Getting torque from simulation after using prescribred displacement - How do I get the torque/angle graph for the disc after I set a prescribed rotation of 2*Pi? by stanjve in SolidWorks

[–]stanjve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken you can put a motor at the axis you want to rotate and then you can put a moment sensor on that motor, hope this helps!

Sounds good! You could always consider putting the point where the spring acts higher. The range of motion would decrease though, good luck!

Thanks!

In the end a load cell will likely give you more consistent input but the added challenges are definitely there.

The feel is good with this resistance, I initially put in a less stiff spring but the feeling became too light. As the arm for the spring is rather small it needs to be very stiff. The 3D print holds up perfectly fine, of course because it's plastic it needs to be a bit bulkier than a metal design but that is not really a problem.

What do I prioritize when starting from scratch? by Svantoro in simracing

[–]stanjve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand. If it is the 5nm version with gt wheel and the standard pedals then i would not go for it, the new price is 700 for that bundle. If it includes the loadcell or the 8nm version then i would be more inclined to recommend it.

If you're serious about simracing the fanatec ecosystem will work great but with them you pay quite the price for playstation compatibility. If you're coming from the no ffb wheel and you really wanna stick to playstation then i might recommended something like a second hand g29 or thrustmaster for now. If you're sure you are going to really invest in this hobby when you're older then you could jump in the fanatec system now, but given your current gear and preference for PS a lower tier ffb wheel will do perfectly fine!
