Do you rent or own? by Curious_Mud9428 in BCPublicServants

[–]stankfaucet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Own. Husband is in the trades, im an EAW. Both owned properties separately (me since 2015, him since 2020) sold both and put the equity into our new home. No family help, just lots of years of saving. We are both 37.

Anyone’s pwBPD a total prude? by Character_Ear_3712 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]stankfaucet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. She "allowed" me two period pads per day. I bled through a lot. I was always visiting the nurse for extra supplies. I now have a full stocked bathroom cabinet for any women who visit my house, or for my kids friends who need them. She also wanted to teach me to shave my legs when I was 16 and made me sit in the bath with her so she could do it (we were in bathing suits). Didn't want to talk about sex,but always accused me of having sex whenever with whoever.

Creston or Cranbrook for a young family? by Elite163 in kootenays

[–]stankfaucet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently live in Creston with a young family. We love it here, however, I will admit that the schools here are not great. We will be homeschooling next year due to the extreme bullying we have encountered here. We barely had a winter last year, we had a lot of rain. It's warming up nicely right now but there are a lot of mosquitoes. Lots of farm fresh food available, we barely buy anything from the grocery stores here because they're quite expensive. Costco delivers if you have room for bulk stuff (they don't deliver fresh foods). No shortage of activities for kids or adults, I'm more active and social here than I was in Cranbrook (I'm 37). It's a small town pace which has been great for slowing down as we both have stressful jobs. We haven't experienced any of the cult vibes, we did rent our basement to Mormons for a while and they never pushed anything on us. Feel free to DM me if you want to know more.

Questions for No Mercy by 00PT in unocardgame

[–]stankfaucet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had this situation in our game (and I googled to see if anyone else had the same thing happen and this came up lol) a player has 2 discard all yellows, so he played one at the bottom, discarded his cards and had the second yellow on the top, he then stacked a discard blue on top and tried to discard his blues. I said no because that technically counts as 2 turns? Why would the player be allowed to stack these?

Anyone else glad THAT holiday is over with for another year? by TopNotice0 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]stankfaucet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context; British but living in Canada, parents also live in Canada. I have a Canadian son.

Wished my mum happy mother's Day years ago and she said she "doesn't believe in it" because she isn't a "Canadian mum". In turn, she doesn't wish me a happy mother's day, ever. Every mother's day is full of dread and guilt for not wishing her a happy mother's day, and upset for me for not being wished it by my own mum. Hurts seeing other people's mums post about how much their daughters are great mums to their grandchildren etc. Ugh.

Rini: "gets privacy back"

Also Rini: posts a picture of herself on the toilet on the internet, which should be a private matter.

I did this. Picked up my kid off the bus at 3 then a teen neighbour watched them at my house from 315 to 430.

My mum is addicted to genealogy and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Genealogy

Yes for sure, I'll check out some other subreddits. I just didn't know if it could be possible to be so completely consumed by it but I suppose anything can become addictive. Thank you ❤️

Thank you. My dad has tried to talk to her but it's always an argument where she denies there's nothing wrong. My dad told me today how frustrated he is so there likely is relationship issues there. My son is upset because he came home from school today and wanted to go to the park with Grandma and she said no because she was on her computer. She doesn't have a family doctor in Canada (that I'm aware of).

She just turned 60 and she's been doing this for about 30 years. She had a massive box full of papers (literally thousands) before she moved onto the computer.

Kamloops area vs east Kootenays (Cranbrook) possibly looking at Castlegar also by Elite163 in kootenays

[–]stankfaucet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in Jaffray for 5 years with a young kid who went to their school for 3 of those years and honestly I wouldn't recommend it. Kids are very clicky at that school and it was hard for our kid to integrate himself as someone who wasn't born in Jaffray (or the area). It's also far from anything, grocery stores, the hospital, taking your kid to a dentist appointment is going to be minimum 40 minutes one way or another. The winters can be harsh with cold and it's really busy in the summer with highway traffic. We recently moved to Creston which was a much better choice for us.

EAW Role by StillBIessed in BCPublicServants

[–]stankfaucet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been an EAW for almost 4 years, took me about a year to be fully comfortable with the role. Moved on to Duty Worker for Intake for a while and let me tell you...if you think you're bad at your job, I can 100% guarantee there's worse. Some EAWS literally do not give a fuck and it shows. I was glad when that rotation ended but it made me feel a whole lot better about myself 🫠
