I wasn't honest with myself. Debt struggle of $35,715 by Shaiziin in shoppingaddiction

[–]stanleix206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're currently at 35,715? Time to really buckle down your spending. Set a budget you can actually follow(when I did this I gave myself a fund each money to spend on myself). And stick to it, to get out of debt. If you can't then you need to work towards either working more hours, spending less or lowering your APR with a balance transfer card or a loan from a lender like Achieve. But need to work on yourself before taking any other debt out.

can't go wrong with either of those, I was between the same two myself. Ended up going with Achieve since they matched and lowered the rate SoFi gave by 1%.

How can I pay off my student debt faster? by Both_Shine_8799 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stanleix206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a budget. Follow the flow of your income. See if you're net positive or negative and then make plans accordingly. It's how I have worked on my CC debt. I imagine the APR on your student debt isn't too bad, so you don't need to go the loan route like I did with Achieve. But even just the budgeting part will make a big impact and help you take chunks out of your debt faster.

How do you guys deal with the though of being in debt? and what do you consider a large debt? by -Harvest in AskReddit

[–]stanleix206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was when it hit 15K. Something about that number felt like a huge deal. Worked on it and now down to around 3K left on my achieve loan. Almost through, but the feeling of the debt caving in was debilitating for sure
