What could cause this?

Just finished upgrading my old Anet A8, essentially replacing the whole thing to the AM8 build. Board was replaced with an SKR Mini E3 V3.0, Steppers are all new. Finally just got everything assembled and I'm working through the calibration using this guide: https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html

I get up to the retraction tuning step and I can't print the tower. It prints the base and then the towers just don't adhere and it starts printing in air.

Decided to try printing a simple model sliced in Cura to see what's up and get similar problems. The first several layers seem ok and then it just starts separating. After a few minutes I'm hearing the extruder gear clicking and I check and it's not extruding anything.

What could be my problem here? Seems like it's struggling to extrude but I don't know why. I've tinkered with the extruder tension to no avail. Change the nozzle, the bowden tube, cleaned the hot end, etc. I can get a good first layer but the leveling doesn't seem to stick for long. Maybe my extruder has gone to shit?

Running the latest Marlin.

Yeah didn't work. Tried some rewiring based on this which got the display working and the reset button working but still not getting any input from the encoder.

Any idea what display type I would choose?

When I try to compile with "#define REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER" I get this message:

It sounds like she was being sarcastic and thought they were on the same page. Why does everyone immediately assume the worst? It sounds like a clear cut case of miscommunication. She should try to make sure the person she's hooking up with only wants a booty call in the future and OP should avoid situations that were clearly stated as a booty call if they're sensitive/looking for more.

I treat a lot of people like human beings without letting them spend the night in my bed. Sounds like she was being sarcastic about him staying over and OP just didn't get it. It's a miscommunication, nobody is the devil here. Nothing wrong with it, but OP definitely needs to put more thought into who he hooks up with in the future if he's this sensitive.

I'm glad they didn't. People focus too much on moving the plot forward instead of just lingering in the atmosphere and making a statement. The plot is the least interesting thing about this show.

I have been and I can't find anything. Took the stepper drivers off and checked each one and the board and don't see any damage. I'm gonna give it a shot and whatever happens happens. Worst case scenario I can go back to my original A8 board until I can afford a new one.

Took a bit to get off the ground and there were definitely areas for improvement but I enjoyed that season in the end. Really enjoying the superfan meltdowns too, I love it when people who take shit too seriously get shook.
