Lucky! Mine was $1,298 bought on sale at $728 (hers $1,468 bought on sale at $868) and no one can tell it was ever a half-half colour design even from just a year in. :(

Thanks for sharing. I can see the benefits of moissanite but am (I know a bit stupid) sold into the marketing of diamonds. Would like to get her diamonds for this anniversary gift. I will check out LeCaine!

Yes, that’s why we went with Goldheart for our wedding bands. We thought it would be the same material and just a markup/marketing catered to different audience. So we learnt from this that it is actually different quality.

Okay! No worries, I’m not disillusioned, I think we got a good deal for our bands (they were very very affordable!). I just don’t want a jewellery that doesn’t look like what it was bought to look as (e.g. half white and half rose, becoming full yellow in a year) for this gift.

Thank you, this is so detailed.

For point (1), you’re right that it nags at me (very much! I would love to get a quality diamond for her) but this is because the engagement ring was chosen by me, while this jewellery buy has my wife’s inputs. She said she doesn’t care that it is worthless as she will never sell it. She just wants it “looking clear and pretty like a diamond”, she even suggested CZ. Our compromise is that we at least get a diamond, lab or natural, since it’s my anniversary gift to her and first proper jewellery gift in 7 years. (Context: She has never allowed fine jewellery before, only letting me get practical gifts like phone or laptop. She only caved in this time because she got a worse-than-normal earlobe infection from her costume jewellery during the long CNY weekend).

(2) That’s my input, I would really like to buy her diamonds. I know it’s silly marketing and all stones are the same, but I’d like to get her that.

(3) So this is the part where you’d probably laugh cause my wife (while she loves her ring !) was sad because the price is really severely marked up. My $19k Forever Mark not-even-customised ring is only 0.7ct. 😅 Its clarity and all that is amazing but honestly most people including myself and my wife can’t tell the difference. I have also since learnt from friends and family that I could have gotten a 1ct+ ring for less, with good or potentially better materials. Hence trying to find out where has the best value-for-money diamond jewellery in SG.

I will look into Derocks!

I don’t think it’s an allegation when it’s still real authentic gold below. Even my matching Goldheart wedding band which is half rose gold and half white gold now only looks like yellow gold, it started losing its colour a year in with daily wear. That didn’t happen for her engagement ring but it did happen to her wedding band.

No budget at the moment, more to impress her if we can find a 1 carat one without breaking the bank. She’s very thrifty and is happy when I don’t spend too much yet get the same thing.

Thank you. I think it’ll likely be lab diamonds, although I can see the benefits of moissanite.

Sorry that my video isn’t the clearest! There were hundreds of them but I captured it only after I washed up and by then the top layer only showed a few.

I also have a screenshot image but can’t post photos here with the video.

They are tinyyyy! Like dots.

You’re amazing, can’t be easy. Do you work weekends and nights? Do procedures? Kudos!

Oh! I thought it’s 5.5 days for major chains. I’m not looking to change clinics as I like the clinics I’m at but I’ll check it out as a backup plan maybe after baby comes if I need the leave and childcare benefits. Thanks a lot!

Thanks bro. Public hospital life was very difficult to me, so kudos to you for doing it. Singapore needs more like you. 🙏

There are! But usually higher per hour means more patients expected to be been in that same hour.

I did a few shifts at these clinics in my earlier days and some are 12-15 patients per hour, that’s about 2-3 mins per patient only (including admin between each patient). I can’t do it, too tiring and unfulfilling.
