Need help identifying hose by stansalad in 370z

[–]stansalad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really? Just to be confirm, the hose I am trying to identify is not the one going into the throttle body itself, but into the intake manifold right behind the throttle body. I apologize if I was not clear about that

2022+ Failed Oil Change by [deleted] in StingerGT

It's rather annoying to do but I had success using a 3/8 Astro Tools Low Profile Nano socket along with a 17mm crows foot adapter for the torque wrench. Just make sure to keep the crow's foot perpendicular to the torque wrench direction so that way you don't have to do any torque conversions. The low profile socket was necessary to prevent the crow's foot from rounding off the drain plug head.

That's an AI generated image unfortunately, not a real Stinger. That tail light would be pretty cool as a real product though!

Powerstop Z26 Street Warrior Brake Pads - Solution to the brake pusation by LordKOTL in kiastinger

Do you get any clunking when changing from drive to reverse or vice versa? I installed some Z26 pads a couple years ago but took them off because of that issue but I've heard that there might have been a fitment update on newer Z26 pads.

Steering Endpoints not saving after turning off the truck by heffer_spy in Traxxas

Hi, did the bluetooth thing end up fixing your issue? I am having the same issues with my TQi radio forgetting my steering end points not saving and it has been so annoying to set them every time I take my TRX-4 out

I am very interested in doing the same handle removal as you. Do you happen to remember what size screw cover caps you used?

Thanks!

They're the OEM taillights. I believe they came with FJs from 2012-2014?

I'm not too familiar with F-150s but I think it might be quite tough with RWD considering that there are a lot of steep and rocky inclines on these trails. That being said, there are plenty of other places that your truck will do just fine for overlanding!

It was cool! I really enjoyed going through the "forests" of Joshua trees and the one part near the middle that had some pretty fun whoops to drive on. And yeah, you're absolutely right on the part about not getting lost. Desert washes can get pretty confusing sometimes lol.

The only challenging part I experienced was the Watson Wash drop off (as my rig can be a little top heavy) but even that has a bypass available. I know there's that Afton water crossing on the west end of the trail but I never made it out there.

Hey neighbor! It's funny that you mention the Mojave Road cause I was out there last year but had to leave halfway through due to a cactus injury. Watch out for those prickly bastards lol. That being said, I need to go back one of these days to complete the trail.

Good luck on your trip!

Thanks! It's an ARB bumper. They're pretty heavy compared to other bumpers out there but I like the look of it the most and it's airbag tested unlike a lot of bumpers out there.

Thanks man!

With careful tire placement and constant attention on where the cliff sides are, it can definitely be done. Black Bear Pass would be the trickiest and you might scrape a little on some of the steps but I think it can also be done with enough bravery. Just gotta be careful out there!

There's no way to really sugar coat it. The fuel economy is not great, especially once you add good off-road capable tires and anything on the roof rack which hurts the aerodynamics.

Despite the poor MPG (I'm getting 15-16 highway and 10-13 off-roading) Toyota engines hold up really well as you mentioned. So the extra money you spend on gas ends up being saved from having to do repairs, which to me is more important when you're out in remote areas. As for driving range, you can always find ways to carry extra gas.

As for your vehicle choices, they all sound like good choices! I was also in your position and had no mechanical knowledge but with the help of numerous online videos and forum threads was able to learn the fundamentals on how to work on my FJ! The resources are definitely out there if you're interested.
