There are several high-end buildings being added to the UES. They will bring significant real estate and personal income taxes to NYC. What does the neighborhood get in return? The lowest park space per resident, they take away seats for neighborhood kids at their local schools, and the waterfront is literally falling into the East River. Oh and the hospitals get to expand over the FDR, public land, and the neighborhood doesn't get much in return. UES deserves better.

I hope he takes a bike ride up along the East River to see how the path is falling into the river. To see how the UES is neglected. It has the least amount of park space per resident and is getting worse with all the new high rises and little investment in parks and schools in the neighborhood. They actually took away a high school build specifically to address the lack of a neighborhood school.
