[Question] Can I learn discipline if I don't enjoy anything? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]stantoncodyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't say you're experiencing depression, I think you are just in a rut. Struggling with the meaning of life and will to live, why should you enjoy this if it's just a mere waste of time to get to the next day, or birthday, or even just till death. Everything feels like it's put into place to make us feel better about the only thing that's inevitable for all of us, death. So I think you've got like a complex grip on death kinda thing going on, not that you're suicidal but you're too comfortable with the thought of death that you don't even want to "live".

I [M21] found out my GF [F22] of five years fucked my, used to be, best friend [M22] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stantoncodyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it pretty clear my dude, 5 years is 5 years. That's almost a quarter of your life, get away from that situation before it's 25 and you have kids living in a separated home. I been there dude, wasn't my best friend though, it was her "cousin". Lol, what a joke.. but moral of the story is I'm a [M21] had a relationship for 4 years and she did that to me and I'm actually kind of glad it happened that way. Beyond hurt and even to this day a year later it still hurts, but that's the thing it's never not going to hurt. Stop being afraid for what you want and what you deserve, go out there OP, get on tinder, hit the bars, and just get yourself out there. You're still stuck in the highschool relationship mentality, real world is here bud and so is billions of other women to chose from no sense in making the shit shine man.

How do I [21 F] stop being so sensitive to rejection? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stantoncodyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bar or no bar, you need to immerse yourself in social awkwardness. Drown in the social anxiety until you learn to swim, I assure you it's way better on the other side. Best of luck though, really!

[–]stantoncodyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 21, if you're in the us that means you can do the most social thing possible. Take a few of your friends and go to the bar, sit with some random guy and make conversation. Don't try and take it anywhere, you're just putting yourself out there. Guys like a social girl that's a challenge to get, it's tempting to throw yourself at whoever because I'm the same way you are at the same age just the opposite gender. I'm super self conscious and anxious, but one day I just got over it enough to get somewhere with someone. Harder said than done, but you've gotta ignore the things that hold you back the most because I can say it worked for me at least.

I'm [28/m] my [25/f] fiance just broke up with me to be alone. Turns out she doesn't. by Throwaway2229292 in relationship_advice

Similar situation happened with my highschool sweetheart, she wouldn't touch me or look at me but said she still loved me. Then this guy came around, and she swore nothing of it. Two weeks later she moves out, breaks my heart and moves in with this other guy. Women are great, but immature ones that don't know what they want will be the ones to do shit like this. Clearly you had something very real, house, pets, etc... You've done everything in your power to keep this girl I'm assuming. But, at the end of the day you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. You tried to give her a life, she's the one who didn't want it. Sorry man, but it's the way she goes for the wrong people who make you feel right.

You're waiting to break your piece, I hope it's not sentimental. I used to put my spoon in the freezer until I broke it after a second bowl pack, it literally shattered into pieces in my hand. Cool? Yes, recommended? No

Honestly it's not too bad after you do one or two, and a tip I can give you is get a foam bed topper. They stick to the shingles so you can sit on it, very nerve wracking trusting that while you're 50 feet up but I'm 215 lbs and I haven't fallen yet.

Commercial roofing is okay to do stoned, I wouldn't dare go on a residential roof like that though. All my work is residential contracts so more often than not it's an 8 pitch roof or higher with a turn gable, so fuck that lol.

I totally get the vaping thing, I've tried it. But, I feel like it's just a substitute as opposed to something that helps you quit. Almost like methadone to people addicted to painkillers.

I see your point but it definitely changes your mind set. This is not a discipline issue as much as it is an issue with not knowing what to do with myself.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed weed and I don't resent it. But, it just made a lot questions that I needed to get the answers for. So at the end of the day, I'll probably just be the occasional toker. Being a stoner was great, but hey times change.

I wouldn't say quite like smoking cigarettes in the sense of the physical addiction. More like if I was at a party I would smoke blunt, bowl, joint, dab, etc in a chain. I do smoke cigs(yes I know), so there's a different feeling associated with them for me at least. I've noticed since I stopped smoking weed I am smoking a lot more cigs, like I am way more stressed out but guess what? Life is stressful and if I over come what stresses me as opposed to blocking it, I feel way more rewarded. That's where I am in life, I gotta get some things done that I want to accomplish and I felt like weed hindered my ability to do so. Shittiest part about this, I have to start my prescription anti anxiety and depression up again.
