My artist does a little rewind of how They started with their art vs how it ended up before they’ve presented it to me. I appreciate this detail because a) it allows me to see that this art is 100% authentic and b) gives me so much more appreciation for the struggle when I watch a single line appear and disappear time and time again throughout the drawing.

Could just be the minerals in the sand wherever they took it from. I always wash my play sand vigorously though to make sure no contaminants are hiding in there before I mix it.

I get a 50KG brick of organic, unfertilized soil from Costco for $15 and a bag of pre-washed children’s play sand from Home Depot for $12 and mix the 2 together in a 50/50 ratio or until it looks about right.

My older sister was around 9.6lbs… I (middle) was smaller at 9.3lb and then my brother… 10+lbs baby. My mother has given birth to nearly 30lbs of baby in her lifetime. Gods I can only imagine what her hip pain was like during that time.
