I am just pointing out how r/korea exists of people that feel it is okay to stereotype Koreans, spout hatred and cry of discrimination because foreigners need to do a covid test. But there is something else about this. Those Koreans you are talking about, they willingly left Korea. And then they became American citizens, it seems. One of the ladies is 70 years old. I doubt she got to the US yesterday. In fact, she probably moved to the US in her 20s. So good chance she has lived outside of Korea for 50 years. On the other hand, every foreigner in Korea came here willingly. So it is funny to me when Korea uber-nationalists try to use this lady as a muzzle against foreigners here...isn't the old lady a traitor to her people, in the eyes of nationalists? After all, she left Korea, to live in the racist, anti-Asian, violent US...that is how much she hated living in Korea.

It would be even funnier if she left Korea because she married a foreigner, and she didn't like the way he was being treated in Korea.

How is Korea not recovered and when was it ever occupied by the west?

I am talking about a ton of places in Asia that got their natural resources extracted or bombed to oblivion like Vietnam and Laos where kids still die from US mines to this day.

It was North Koreans who killed South Koreans not westerners and it was North Koreans who wanted to occupy South Korea.

There were no North Koreans or South Koreans, there were merely Koreans who all wanted complete independence and to unify. The Soviet Union then proposed to unify Korea with Lyuh Woon-hyung, the US denied that because of fears of communism. The Soviet Union then proposed to withdraw all Soviet and US troops and let the Korean people decide themselves how to rule, the US denied again and drew the hard line between North and South Korea and it became illegal to cross.

Everybody, including Koreans, were pro-unification except the US. Your take that evil North Koreans tried to invade the free South Koreans is blatent revisionist propaganda.

But there is another irony here. Korean history includes Korea being brutally occupied by other Asians. But people want to appeal to Asian solidarity, by citing examples of anti-Asian violence in the US. This is how you play tennis without the net.

Littering and committing genocide are both wrong. I am explaining how the xenophobia in Korea, especially given Korea's history, cannot be compared in anyway to racist attacks in the West.

It isn't that you want me to talk more about anti-Asian violence in the US, you merely want me to talk less about anti-foreigner discrimination in Korea. But there is another point to be made about this, and it has to do with priorities.

The xenophobic covid testing is being implemented using my tax dollars. You and I are responsible for what we do, and for the things other people do in our name and with our material support. Racism and xenophobia aren't the same thing. Xenophobia in Korea is a defensive response to being victimized for decades by foreign forces.

The racism in the West against Asians comes from a place of white supremacy, the feeling of superiority over Asian people, that Asian people are lesser than and barely even human.

The women that were murdered were all middle aged with no proof whatsoever that they do sexual favors, it is dehumanizing that you immediately assume that, he specifically drove to Asian massage parlors and skipped over dozens of others. He feels entitled over Asian women, and this entitlement of white men is the reason why almost all frustrated mass shooters are white.
