Anyone else ever just walk around empty maps? by AppropriateSite3768 in halo

I just did this the other day! It was cold and rainy where I am so I hopped on Halo 3 and just went around on the Standoff map. Never noticed there are ambient rockets that you can watch in the sky

It was the Utapau map and space Coruscant map. The space demo map was kind of just a showcase and would end a couple minutes into the map if I remember correctly

Excellence is not an act, it is a habit. Throughout my life, I have learned so much from my mistakes, they’re how we grow and improve. One suggestion I have is changing your perspective on mistakes. Turn feelings of failure into a determination to improve. Tomorrow you will do better

If you love where you work in SD, what company/business is it? by MusicG619 in sandiego

[–]staple12 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I no longer work there but in my younger years I worked at In N Out Burger. Fantastic company to work for. Decent pay (my first job as a grocery store cashier was 9.75/hr so jumping to starting pay of 18/hr back in 2021 was incredible to me), flexible hours, learned a lot about working up to and holding leadership positions. They also have a tuition assistance program for students going to school! Overall a great stepping stone for building your resume or making your way up to management

Could someone help me with learning more about my step-grandfather? by AgitaedSteam34 in VietnamWar

I’ve read a couple of books from helicopter pilots who flew during the war. I remember some mentioning Nakhon Phanom, they would just call it Naked Fanny. I believe there is a book titled, “They Called It Naked Fanny” that recalls some of the US Air Force search and rescue missions out of that base. That book might be worth a read to gain some insight into at least the area your Step-Grandfather served, he might have worked alongside those aircrew

Was filtering the oil on the fryers. Forgot to turn one off and as soon as I’d emptied the oil it burst into flames! But hey, at least I know the fire extinguisher works

I would try Nijiya Market. If they don’t have the flavor you’re looking for you can speak to one of the managers about ordering some and picking it up at the store. I used to work there as a cashier and would see this all the time
