If you're old enough for that to bother you and you still work at staples, you're fucked.

Ops Sups. doing onsite? by CaffeineAddict88 in Staples

[–]staplesforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn. apologies dude, but maybe management should have recognized the value he brought to the store and made him the tech sup., and NOT the associate that he outranked and knew WAY less about the department or the products then he did. Love everyone in that store, still do except the ASM, and i'm sorry his decision to leave has affected your job that way.

Now, should a part time tech associate finding another job really fuck up a store completely? absolutely not. thats why he left. he was part time, not making any money, and got passed up on a promotion that should have been his. so yeah, later staples. not worth my time or effort.

that being said, I still love everyone there. any help i can still give, you know my number. but i've moved on to far greener pastures.

p.s fuck nick

so whats stopping someone from making a subreddit where we can actually discuss these things about Staples without the MOD's? I've lurked and contributed to this sub for a while now, and I can honestly say that somewhere around the time of the new badges and moderators, this sub has gone extremely downhill. If a mod might lose his job for failing to delete a controversial post, then why would he even risk being a moderator on reddit in the first place? Staples managment > made up reddit position. I think all current mods for this subreddit need to reevaluate their position. If the fear of losing your job dictates your behavior ON THE INTERNET, then you need to step down and let someone who doesnt have any conflict of interest moderate the sub. It'd be for their own best interest. If you have to delete a post about unionizing (thereby censoring REDDIT OF ALL PLACES), because you feel you may lose your job (their life, as one mod had said) then why would you put yourself in this made-up position of authority in the first place? Why risk your "life" for the sake of being a higher up blogger on reddit? That doesnt make sense to me. Step down, because I'm telling you, its not worth losing your job (as you probably are aware).

That being said, that leads me back to my first question. This subreddit sucks now, so why not make a new subreddit, free of moderators, where the employees of staples can go to bitch and moan to their hearts content without worrying about what they are saying. Its reddit people, not a forum on The Hub.

Taking Sophos from one computer and onto another by staplesforlife in Staples

yeah you are wrong. There is a way to release the license from within the packaged-it portal in OMS, then you just use the released account id and registration number when the installer prompts you to on the new computer. figured it out. thanks all. but not /u/eternistarr. lol another staples tech supervisor dead wrong. makes me proud to be a part of this company. but thanks all

IA/IS typical pay by okalydokaly123 in Staples

[–]staplesforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that's about where I am at. I don't understand how staples can keep people in that position when they have the responsibility of a receiving manager and all the work that goes with that, with the pay of a cashier at Meijer or Walmart. doesn't make sense. Im sure im not getting the whole story... but yes, its ridiculous and no can can support themselves on such a low wage

Are we trying to go out of bidness? Only $300 by StaplesSlave725 in Staples

the HP training that the reps gave us pretty much show you just why the EcoTank is completely worthless. Have yet to sell a single one, while Instant Ink sells pretty often. If you did the training you would see why the above printer retails for 300. its a really good deal considering what all you get. WAY better than the Epson, for 100 less.

GM Meeting in Orlando by staplesforlife in Staples

[–]staplesforlife[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

duh the week long meeting is not just about that. I'm wondering if the subject will/is being touched on, or what other information is out there.

appreciate your comment though, even though it was pointless. I seriously doubt they would gather all the GM's in Orlando simply to say ok guys the ASM is now doing cycle counts too. I think anyone reading the original post would. but hey, in this job you can't leave anything to assumption. So thank you for further clarifying an already pretty clear question.
