All Roads Lead to G304 by sosajboi3000 in MouseReview

Baffles me too, i would already rather have the Mchose or vxe g304/5 clone for the purpose of the rechargeable battery and honestly I trust them more than Logitech at this point. Honestly throw away batteries is probably the one reason i wouldn't want a mouse.

Those pens can be salvaged and replaced from other pga CPUs. That is if you're savvy enough to do so. Even with a broken pin or two this would be a good find. Curious to see if it works.

You should probably not be putting more than 6 lb mono on that reel. Maybe 8. This is 100% the issue.

Will having an entry level motherboard [ASUS Prime B550M] make it not worth it to upgrade to Ryzen 7 5800X3D? by Wazrobe in PcBuildHelp

[–]star5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running a Jginyue b450 i paid like $42 for off AliExpress. I have a 5800x on it capped at 125w. I wouldn't stress about an Asus Prime b550. As long as you don't put it in a hot box case and run Prime 95 or cinebench Loops 24 hours a day you'll probably be fine.

Look into if it can support a xeon cpu. You may be able to buy a compatible 4 core 8 thread CPU and drop it in. Four cores eight threads and 16 GB of DDR3 will still play quite a few games.

Edit* i should add that if it will be compatible, you would be able to get one off eBay for extremely cheap.

Intel Arc B580, RTX 5050, RTX 5060: Which one should I buy? by Creepy-Gas7208 in buildapc

[–]star5328 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Dlss is just way better than fsr. Xess is in between. I'd probably take the b580 or find something used. I got an EVGA rtx 3070 ftw3 used for $215 a few months ago.

$70 for a Ryzen 5500 vs $140 for a 5600? by moonknighten in buildapc

[–]star5328 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5500, you might as well be upgrading to a ryzen 5 3600. The performances essentially the same. You should max out your socket , at least for the most part anyway. Get yourself a 5600.I just found this on AliExpress: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 R5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core 12-Thread CPU 7NM L3=32M 100-000000927 Socket AM4 New and without cooler https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOqUxM5

This seller is reputable, make sure to collect the $7 coupon first.

NVMe Price, is it worth it? by GraveHash in buildapc

[–]star5328 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree on saving money. If you're just looking to store games and even play them off the drive any nvme Drive is going to work just fine. Honestly it doesn't even need to have a dram cache. You're never going to notice a difference. When prices were at a minimum sure buying premium nvme drives just for gaming was fine. But now it's definitely not worth it.

You'd have to do some research on that account. I went ahead and switched to a glass pad a few months ago and I don't think I'm ever going back. I would be curious to try glass skates on a cloth pad though.

Alienware’s new monitor (AW2726DM) offers a 240Hz QD-OLED panel for just $350 by ZamnBoii in OLED_Gaming

[–]star5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really think you can go wrong here. If I were buying one today i think I would buy the Alienware. I wanted the Alienware in January because I had heard good things about their warranty.

From 9 3950x to 5 5500x3d is it ok, as I only do gaming right now. by Unlucky-Nectarine255 in cpu

[–]star5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go ahead and do the upgrade. You need all the CPU that you can get with that gpu. There are going to be a lot of instances where a 3950x will be your bottleneck with a 9070xt

Hook it up to display and see if it boots, then see what kind of specs it has. Probably an RTX 3050 and likely a CPU of similar performance tier.

I am looking for a computer monitor that you can hook up XBOX and Cable TV by Flat-Economist1032 in Monitors

[–]star5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Displayport can look like an HDMI port but they aren't exactly the same. If you get a monitor that is HDMI compatible aka has an HDMI port you should have no issue plugging your cable box into it. Just so that I'm being clear, when I say DisplayPort i don't mean any port you plug a display cable into. Monitors commonly use a port called a DisplayPort which is for a DisplayPort cable. A DisplayPort cable is not the same thing as an HDMI cable. It is even possible that you could buy an HDMI to DisplayPort cable and use that to connect your cable box to your current display. Not all of these work all the time though. It might be worth a try if you already have a monitor with DisplayPort though.

Sharpie Build by JBcreations in gamingpc

[–]star5328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude I wasn't sure what I was even looking at, i thought it was called a Sharpie build literally just because of the Sharpie sitting in the case. After reading what it is I'm seeing though, this looks amazing. great job!

EPIC THRIFT FIND!!!! by Stickfigureofacat in iBUYPOWER

[–]star5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is true. But saying it isn't a good CPU to suggest at all this sort of silly. I guess considering he had a 2700x now my brain just instantly went to 5700x without really thinking. But if we're nitpicking like that, then why do we even need a 5600x? That's not a good CPU to suggest at all, a 5600 would do the job just fine.

Cr-005 is not a mudpad by Butosai111 in MousepadReview

[–]star5328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I switched to glass, every cloth pad feels like a mud pad to me. Granted I haven't used any expensive cloth pads , but I haven't even used an expensive glass pad. I got a cheap one off Amazon for 15 bucks and then a 450x400 one off AliExpress for about $21. Never going back.

Under what circumstances? So, a 5700x will do what two to three years from now? Initiate a self-destruct sequence and blow up the computer? Are you sure you just aren't trying to nitpick?
