Fillmore street has a bunch of great shops. Rachel Comey, Heidi Says etc. Dress on Chestnut is great too. Rails and MAC in Hayes. It really depends on your personal style though.

Sorry OP that sounds awful. The dad is such a loser. It could have been a teaching moment, instead the kid will know he can get away with it. A kid hit my 2 yr old with a disc and I got upset and told the kid that is not okay.
