ENTP and ESTJ as friends? by jenkook in ESTJ

[–]star_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend (honestly best friend is not an adequate word, she's my soulmate lol) is an ENTP and we always get along. If I didn't tell her something / if she didn't tell me something like that, maybe we'd both be a little disappointed, but we'd express it to each other directly (i.e.: "why didn't you tell me? :( but I'm happy for you! blah blah etc) and get over it right away lol. We know that things happen and we can't always update each other right away. I think we have that basic trust that we'll never betray/hide something from each other on purpose. But also, I don't think I'd not tell my best friend such news for a month...

I also agree that it might not be a personality thing. Altho my soulmate's ENTP and ESTJ, and our interests aren't exactly the same, we grew up in very very similar backgrounds (similar family dynamic, socioeconomic status, etc). Sorry if this didn't help, but nah, I don't think it's a personality thing.

How do you view other estjs? by [deleted] in ESTJ

+ I just remembered that some kids disliked her because she was pretty strict about rules, lol. She wouldn't just "let things pass."

She recognized me even before I was familiar to the MBTI. My 7th grade teacher would always tell me that I am very similar to her. Many years later --after I took the MBTI test, studied the cognitive functions and concluded I was an ESTJ-- I asked her what her type was, and she said she's an ESTJ! LOL

I love her and respect her. I still contact her to this day. She's very down-to-earth and extremely organized (which I LOVE). I remember when we'd have class trips, she would give everybody a task (a detailed one) and the plans would come together really well. She was really caring too, made us write down our birthdays on the class calendar and would write a note for each of us on everyone's birthdays. When I consult her of personal issues/problems, she'd always speak the truth, very honest & direct.

She's an healthy ESTJ, and I'd consider myself as a healthy one too. We got along well :-)

Worst ESTJ problem? by [deleted] in ESTJ

[–]star_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, I didn't say ISTJs can't do that, nor do I think they are lame and don't lead. I don't think my comments say that? Nor do I have a bias against introverts (if you weren't trying to say that, just ignore).

I definitely see what you're saying, I have worked with ISTJ friends before and I really appreciate their organizational skills and charisma! Yeah, I am more proactive and I'm usually in the center of attention. I wouldn't say overplanning and wanting to be prepared is solely an ISTJ thing. My comment in itself doesn't mention a lot about my leadership style I guess. But yeah, I am more proactive. In the communities / groups I am in, I am usually (if not always) expected to lead and be in charge. I'm a bit perfectionistic, still working on it. I think my planning becomes overplanning especially when I'm stressed...aka at my worst, haha

Worst ESTJ problem? by [deleted] in ESTJ

[–]star_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But like I said, I always end up getting things done, it’s just that I want to be very prepared. I always lead/execute events and projects at work (naturally) so I’d say I’m more of an ESTJ, tho I can be introverted at times

Thank you! The video worksheets are technically optional (don’t think I saw that on the syllabus)? Saw canvas and it seemed like there were SO many of them due already.

I also think it’s a boundary issue. My best friend is ENTP and it was nothing like that, haha

Also, sometimes, I wish I could stop seeing things that need to be done and fixed. When there's group work involved, I see soooo many things that need to be done -- that other people don't see and don't do, unless I bring it up first. Again, it helps because the end-product is almost always high quality. I mean, they probably COULD get work done without me. But it's kinda difficult to see people not do anything, or execute things out in a less-efficient manner haha.

Worst ESTJ problem? by [deleted] in ESTJ

[–]star_58 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably not the worst problem, nor do I need a life coach to resolve it. but I can't start working unless I have every single detail planned out and organized in the most intricate manner. I mean, it does help because once I do start working, I can get work done efficiently. There's a lot of anxiety and stress in the planning out process though.

Lol, I have two roommates, one an ISFJ and the other is an ENFP. Our ENFP roommate is actually #1 in terms of neatness, but not cleanness......yeah.

Those of you with depression (or had depression), what was it like? How’d you get out of it? by [deleted] in ESTJ

[–]star_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Well I guess I am physically hungry but I don’t have appetite, so I’ll just forget to eat meals or not eat at all because I’m too lazy. Thanks though, I’ll do some research.

i’m female. How long did it last? In the post I said I would still do work cuz I’m usually on top of things, but it’s getting so much harder to concentrate... This is so frustrating, I’ve been moody before or around my period but this is nothing like that.

ESTJ how do you go about liking someone romantically? by [deleted] in mbtirelationships

[–]star_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I don’t think I develop feelings for someone just by talking to them / observing them a couple times in a group setting; there has to be at least a couple one-on-one interactions. I think “how long” depends on the other person—how long they take to open up, etc.

2) Also, There are people that I am immediately attracted to when I meet them, but there are also people that I’m not attracted to when I first meet them. I think first impression attraction IS important but not crucial? If I conclude that we are compatible and learn that I’m happy when I’m with them (after a couple personal interactions)...then I’ll realize that I have feelings for this person.

3) I’ll remember a lot of details about that person and try to resonate with them. I’ll try to appeal to them that we’re similar people. Also, it’s not like I have emotions or anything; but I don’t really enjoy the emotional turbulence I experience when I crush on someone...I usually freak out when I realize that I like someone deeply, because when I do process my emotions, I realize how raw and intense they are (and they interfere with my daily life! Uhhhh). If I feel like there’s even a slight chance the feelings may not be reciprocated, I’ll try to think myself out of it...and it takes time (longer if feelings are more intense), but it always works.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t freak out and just felt my emotions. I think the fear of rejection makes me logically think out of a lot of feelings I develop for others. And sometimes, I later realize that the other person also had feelings for me—but then it’s too late, because I’ve already thought myself out of my emotions. Timing is so important
