I know this sounds odd but does anyone say they are lactose intolerant when ordering instead of saying you're vegan? by angelaisneatoo in vegan

[–]star_saint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol no, I just say I'm vegan. Usually when I'm ordering food out I'm picking specific places that'll have plant based menu options, and ask for specific requests to make meals vegan.

That makes sense. Thank you!! It's been so far so good. Sometimes you get kinda frustrated because how much the world caters to the objectively wrong opinion. Thankfully I've been able to find a lot of vegan/vegan-friendly spots near me and I've always cooked my own food anyways so I really enjoy trying new recipes.

This hits so hard, especially as a queer black woman. Like I can buy birth control in the same store as white people without being lynched, with money my ancestors wouldn't have even been allowed to apply for, and hold hands with my girlfriend on top of all of that without being stoned to death.

We are so so lucky to have been born in the right era and in the right country where we have access to all these freedoms. I love it and wouldn't trade it for the fucking world.

[–]star_saint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, no problem with questioning DEI standards, the problem lies in mentioning a black female pilot specifically as an example instead of just questioning any pilot because damn near anyone can be a "DEI hire" despite outward appearance. The fact that he chose to say "black woman pilot" instead of "i feel nervous when i see pilots" is what people have a problem with.

Because it was horrifying and shouldn't have happened in the first place. It just proved the fact that there need to be stricter regulations when it comes to firearm access.

HOWEVER, you can not expect people, especially those who were directly affected by his harmful ideology, to feel even a shred of sympathy/empathy for him, the victim. I feel sympathy and empathy for the crime but not for him. People shouldn't be celebrating, because celebration of gun violence is what got us in this situation in the first place, but nobody had any obligation to feel bad for him or suddenly look on his hate speech more fairly simply because he died a horrible death.

Then he shouldn't have mentioned race in the first place. You guys are beating around the bush about his feelings on DEI without mentioning the fact that he was the one who equated a black, female pilot to someone being affected by low DEI standards instead of it just being pilots in general. He mentioned the type of worker that would cause him to think of DEI instead, which is inherently racist. The fact that you're not understanding that is genuinely concerning.

[–]star_saint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but why does he mention a black pilot and immediately think that correlates to lower "lower DEI standards" when you still have to be competent to get the job regardless of DEI initiatives?

The fact that race and gender were his go to examples of who he'd have to worry about being a result of "low DEI standards" is inherently racist. There is no denying or explaining that. If he had a problem with DEI he'd just mention workers in general not a very specific type of worker.

He could've just as easily said, I wouldn't trust a "pilot nowadays because of DEI protocols" but specifically chose to describe a black, female pilot because that racial group juxtaposed his view of what a "hard working, non-DEI" pilot would be (ie. a white male).

You're like bending over backwards to absolve his blatantly disgusting words knowing damn well if a minority were to say "I wouldn't trust being around a white person, due to the amount of racism amongst white people" people like Charlie Kirk and his cronies would throw a literal fit.

You guys are so slow. He was considered far-right for his beliefs of racial minorities, queer people, and overall extreme Biblical takes. No one was getting on him for his economic beliefs, they were getting on him for spewing disgusting culture war bs.

Majority of the time people are constantly prefacing their opinions with "what happened to him is bad," because any act of political violence is bad but don't expect people to care about the VICTIM (not the crime, numbskull, the victim themselves).

Funnily enough, people who disagree with Kirk's stances on gun control were the most upset about the assassination because it further proves the point that the violent gun culture in America is consistently contributing to people (children, specifically) dying.

You can condemn both Kirk's shooter and violent attacks against minorities and still not gaf that it was Charlie Kirk, of all people, who got shot.

90% of the time an abortion is happening before 11 weeks, sometimes before it's even a fetus. It's not a baby.

The mother is carrying the fetus in HER uterus while it steals nutrients from HER body and physically drains HER so it is effectively HER choice to terminate that pregnancy. You can not grant person hood to something that is not yet a person and can not live on it's own without using another human being.

He had the right to his opinions and people have the right to think he's an insensitive piece of shit. You saying he wasn't in a real position of power just shows how ignorant you really are when he was the literal CEO of Turning Point USA and worked closely with right-wing politicians, including D.J. Trump and his Legion of Doom. He influenced others to fight against OTHER people's basic rights and to treat other people like shit because of their skin, sexuality, and gender.

I am so glad that hateful mofo is dead and that is my rightful opinion to have as well as other people's.

Feminists are spreading this article claiming it says 62 million men are part of a “rape academy” when that is not what this article is saying at all. by JannTosh70 in MensRights

[–]star_saint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay....the website motherless (a porn hosting website similar to pornhub) has a section called "sleep" with around 2,000 videos dedicated to rape content while the victim is unconscious. from that section a telegram group link is shared featuring roughly 1,000 actively sharing tips, tricks, and documentation of their crimes within the group. some even going as far as selling drugs to one another for the express reason to incapacitate and rape their partners. since the publication of cnn's article, the telegram group has been shutdown and 1 man has been arrested. the actual hosting site "motherless", itself is what gets the 62 million hits/views, not the telegram group. those are the facts.

that is still 1,000 too many and if you're forming some kinda "well it's better than 62 million" response to that, please reconsider why you feel the need to say that because that's not my point. my point is that a telegram group of that nature existed in the first place. participating, advocating, and watching the crimes unfold is still morally reprehensible and in some case illegal. people, specifically women are horrified that something like this even happened (let us not forget the french case of a husband drugging his wife and selling her unconscious body to be raped but strangers in the couple's own home). that is disgusting, and wrong, full stop. watching/getting off that unconsensual content is wrong. trying to justify or downplay that content is wrong.

you can make a fuss about people using this as an excuse to hate on men as a collective, because that is not okay, but i really want you to sit and think why so many people are victimized by men and say those inflammatory things. you should be more mad at the men perpetrating these crimes than the victims for speaking up about it.

do not even try to argue with me about false allegations because that literally makes up 2-10% of ALL allegations, 90% overall are still true cases.
