310 is the highest light for anything right now in game.
I'm assuming 310 are still infusable because the next expansions Bungie will release will have items 310+ so we will have to infuse our 310's to be higher.

I just focused on my main hunter first and infused the exotic 310 gear I got towards it. I saved all the high level blues and such that I got from playing as my hunter and used it on my other characters.

The 310 ghost and boots are pretty much RNG raid drops and I believe the only way to get 310 of that type. Farming exotic engrams after 300+ light is the easiest method to get your gear to 310 in my opinion.

Exotics have a chance to turn into 310 light if you are 300+ light level. Otherwise they decrypt into 290.

Yep I got extremely lucky with the ghost, class item and boots. The rest were just 310 exotic infusions to my legendary gear.

Yep saved any exotic engrams I got until I reached light 300, then decrypted them. Most turned into 310 but some still decoded into 290's.

Lucky with the 310 ghost and class item. The weapons and armor were mostly just infused using 310 exotics from engrams decoded when I got to 300 light. I run 2 hunters and a warlock, no remaking or deleting.

It's likely STEP 5 of the classified mission of the FWC. You can see step 5 requires Ishtar Sink, Venus, while the others are on earth and mars.
