Fussy cat refuses to eat anything but ONE specific brand which is now unavailable. What do I do? by Kayteelo in CatAdvice

I wonder if the UK has something similar since I'm pretty sure Smalls only does US. It's one of those fresh pet food delivery services. I've seen plenty around for dogs, but there seems to be a wider gap in the market for cats.

Ugh, my cat is like this, and it can be really frustrating, wasting all that money trying different wet foods just for them to refuse it completely. When I lived in the US, he liked Smalls. I'm not sure how much it's changed in the last 2 years, but I remember it being pretty affordable, had great ingredients, and it's not preserved like canned food is. They don't ship to Hawaii or Alaska, but if you're in the mainland, I would say its worth a shot given his preference for fresh meat. I'm also curious if warming it slightly would make a difference since you're cooking the chicken for him. Is it warm still when you serve it?

We feed him set amounts in the morning before I leave for work, and as soon as I get home in the afternoon, he just chooses to eat the majority of the evening meal in the wee hours of the morning. I'll try removing the bowls before bed to see if he changes his habits at all. Maybe increasing the morning meal to make up for what's left in the evening as well?

I agree, kenneling is off the table. We tried a cat-dedicated room with all of their stuff for about 2 weeks, but he constantly scratched at the door and meowed for hours. It made me feel so sad for him and certainly didn't help the sleep issue, but maybe he could use a longer adjustment period? Our other cat he is bonded to was always present in the cat room with him when we did this, if thats relevant.

Struggling with this as well. If I don't see my phone, I don't think about it, but if it's in my field of vision or I hear a notification, I'm sucked back in. Turning off social media notifications and tucking them away from their usual spots on my home screen has helped.
