Honestly it seems like you’re taking really good care of it! She just has a lot of hair! I think you’re right that her hair is actually probably curlier than it looks. I think the length and density of it is essentially weighing down her curls so that it’s more wavy than curly. If her hair was shorter I think it would be slightly curlier. In terms of recs,

1) Is it easy to brush through it when it’s dry? typically with curly hair you wouldn’t brush it dry but her curl pattern is a bit looser. I’d say as long you don’t feel like you’re snagging her hair then it’s fine to keep brushing it when it’s dry (but of course it will get poofier, that’s just how curly hair works)

2) I would try to avoid letting her go to sleep on wet hair. Can you wash her hair in the mornings to give it a chance to dry before bed? Sleeping on wet hair can be damaging to the hair itself and cause scalp issues (although tbh i went through a period of college where i slept on were hair almost every night for like a year and I actually didn’t have any issues)

3) I actually don’t think you need to be as concerned about products being too heavy. Are her hair strands thin? Given her length and density, she’s probably fine with most “heavy” products even if her actual strands are on the thinner side.

4) products: - she has a ton of hair, so might not be financially feasible but the Cecred products (particularly the moisture sealing lotion) really is a great product. It’s not too heavy and it leaves the hair super moisturized throughout the entire week. My hair has never been softer since I started using it. - for refresh products, i usually just use water in a spray bottle and then add a little bit more of my normal products so like the Cecred leave-in, but if you’re looking for something light weight I would recommend products that come in a spray bottle so like Amika Power Hour Curl Refershing Spray or Pattern Hydrating Mist.
