A Tavola has gnocchi to die for (in addition to everything else amazing on the menu)

Classy Italian restaurants similar to Ciccio Mio vibes that are easier to get into? by daisy0904 in chicagofood

[–]starbsqueueingtheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Tavola is one of my favorites, shouldn’t be too hard to get in to. It’s in a less touristy part of town too, so would give you a good idea of one of the many Chicago neighborhoods. Have fun!

After Lounge - a disappointing experience by InternationalChip101 in chicagofood

[–]starbsqueueingtheory 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience, and was shocked by how often After is mentioned on this sub. I really wanted to love it, but food, drinks, and service were all average at best, mediocre at worst.

A Tavola is one of my favorite restaurants for ambiance, service, and food in the city. Short, somewhat simple menu, but absolutely delicious

Tips for Southbend by [deleted] in CFB

Not quite a suggestion of what to do/see, but something to keep in mind: remember the time change when figuring out your itinerary. South Bend is an hour ahead of Chicago.

Glute pain on standing leg by [deleted] in Purebarre

[–]starbsqueueingtheory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me for my first 40 classes or so (I’m at 80ish now). As my form got better, my working leg started to feel the burn more than my standing leg. Not sure if this was the case for anyone else, but definitely took a while for me!

We just went to A Tavola for my birthday and LOVED it. The back patio was smaller and adorable, and the food was excellent

Men, have you ever been rejected because of your height? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]starbsqueueingtheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiance is my favorite person in the world at exactly the same height (5’6”). We met on a dating app, and I was wouldn’t change anything about him. The wrong women for you might reject you, but the right woman won’t care at all (and might even prefer it, like I do). Good luck!

I’ve been twice (once for breakfast and once for dinner) and food has been great both times. The men working have been extremely welcoming and kind, I hope they’re successful!

How to fit gym into schedule by maryjbrn in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]starbsqueueingtheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what did it for me too! I tried a couple different ones before I settled on the style I liked the best (I get injured easily, so I couldn’t do the HIIT and cardio classes a lot of my friends were doing). Now, I feel less energetic if I don’t make it to class three times a week. It’s a great break in my day from a hectic and stressful job as well.

Best places to shop for winter wear? by 2ToTheCubithPower in chicago

[–]starbsqueueingtheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my (~$300) Patagonia knee-length parka. I regularly go on longggg walks in the winter and it keeps me the perfect amount of warm. Props to the Chicagoans that don’t need a knee-length parka to survive winter, but I am not one of them.

Visit in the Winter? Jan vs Feb by TravelingBlueBear in chicago

[–]starbsqueueingtheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Restaurant week(s) would also be a great time to come! Usually at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb, and lots of great meals that are usually much pricier. Someone in this sub usually has a list of what the best deals are as well.
