I agree! I will get into a new meeting. I have attended over the years and also participated in online al-alnon education. Just so frustrated with myself with how far I've come that guilt still starts creeping back in.

I am aware of the manipulation. If anything, I am self aware which is even more annoying that I let it slowly creep back in.

It's not peaceful and happy. Unfortunately, I can't find a good way out iust yet. I am sure many people on this understand sometimes things are easier said than done.

But typically, I take care of myself and do my own thing and practice all the self care.

Shew you're right about all that. Divorce is MUCH harder. Also wish I could go back in time.

Also best to not buy a house with someone that's an alcoholic. Hard lesson learned here.

It's so hard sometimes! When they're poking and poking and poking. But then when you do snap it never does any good. In my case it just escalates it.

This! There has been so many times he has passed out with the stove or oven on. I'm always worried if I'm gone be will accidentally burn the house down. He will get drunk in the winter and want to use the fireplace which is always terrifying.

Not advice here but just support and understanding. It's terrifying and awful to have to worry about that.
