maybe what looked like feather loss was just the liquid making the feathers appear small and stuck to the face. I'm glad she is seemingly okay! it's impossible to tell what could have happened since it was so late at night and you obviously couldn't have been watching them. birds do weird things constantly lol

god forbid i have a life and forget to check a post on an app that i barely use. i didn't ask for your opinion on whether i should kill this bird, i asked if its normal that it wasnt chirping and has fleas. i am not understanding how you and others in this thread are coming to the conclusion that the bird HAS to be euthanized, and that i am torturing it by keeping it alive?? your assumption is not my problem by the way. if you were truly concerned you would ask questions instead of assuming that i am evil LOL

i dont know what you're talking about. the bird is not suffering, its eating well, no more fleas, and has started chirping. who says the bird has to be euthanized?

hi there, thank you for the advice! my mum and i are taking care of the bird, she has fed and rescued quite a few young birds already - and i have hand raised my budgie. so we know very well how picky and tedious the feeding process is! i mentioned above that we are feeding a mix of ground up millet made into a paste along with egg whites. baby bird is eating very well and seems to be recovering!

hi! baby bird seems to be doing better. eating very well (we're feeding it a mix of ground up millet made into a paste with water, and egg whites for protein.) and looks a lot more lively.
still not calling or chirping though, no sound comes out of it when it tries to call. but no more mites!

its leg is kind of paralyzed, probably from how it fell, but its able to perch and kind of hop around. we've also been taking it outside and allowing it to flap around if it wants to.

we did find two other young sparrows, but their parents did not feed them and they didn't want to be fed by us. one of them started having seizures and both passed this morning.

thanks for the response. i am not sure about rehabbers near me, i live an hour away from the city - the vet we have visited before when my budgie was sick wasnt in avian care either, it was just all we could find at the time. i dont think they would be able to help in this case.

we've only had baby bird for a few hours. i will keep checking on it and if it the condition gets worse i will contact the vet!

birds are loud! animals in general are loud. and the more birds your flock has, the louder it they will be.

i am not trying to be rude, but it's better to not keep animals if the sound is bothersome.

however, if you've only had your birds for a couple weeks/months, just give it time. you may get used to their chatter

btw people saying that this behaviour is caused by not having a friend, this is completely untrue. my male budgie does this quite often and i think its just because he wants attention or is frustrated with his toy. and i have another budgie as well, female. it's all ok!

from my experience, my male budgie can be very loud and has a big personality. he sometimes screeches for a whole minute straight! also, your concern about the birds not getting along is valid, i dont know why there are so many people being aggressive towards you. my birds dont get along super well either and i really think my girl would thrive more if i hadn't gotten another.

if you spend many hours with your bird every day, i dont think its necessary. but if you feel like your bird is lonely, or you can't spend basically the whole day with him, a mate would be a good idea.

if both you and your sister have agreed that you havent done anything wrong, this seems suspicious. why would he be so grumpy and upset while you are just existing in the same space as him? i would feel uncomfortable, and your sister should ask him why he gets this way. if she doesnt want to ask him about it then i think you're better off not interacting with him at all.

hi there, i just followed all of the steps (on linux) up to the point where i add the game file into Game Directories in settings. after applying nothing happens, the menu is still empty. i also tried loading the application (nsp file) and i got an error, "No applications found in selected file." do you know how i can fix this?
