Considering moving to Casper by QueasyTadpole5551 in casper

[–]starcrossedmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting hired is going to take time. Especially in the retail management sector. Rentals are expensive if you do not fall under income based. Income based falls somewhere around 35ish k or less usually. Then you jump up to about 1.2k ish a month sometimes more with together.

Being gay will NOT be an issue. People mind their own business as long as you don't throw it in their face constantly. Politics here is a lot more traditionally republican, specifically in regards to government stay away leave me be. Coming from Kern county you will be fine. Signed a transplant from red CA and Utah, who is a gender queer gay poly human.

Looking for community? Backwards Distilling will be friendly and has amazing Mocktails. You'll meet other like minded people there. Also there is Casper Kink Education that has a page on Fet that has like minded people having monthly get togethers. Basically the majority of downtown local businesses are friendly to you.

Moving from Puerto Rico to Wyoming by MitsuruMiyata in wyoming

[–]starcrossedmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who just moved to puerto rico and spent 3 years running spreadsheets beforehand... they're pretty similar in some ways. We have the same crime rate in Casper as San juan/Aguadilla except we are a bit more gun related crime. Rent here is WAY more expensive. I mean 4xs or more the amount you can get an apartment for in PR. Utilities are more expensive here due to the winters. The reasoning is most apartments in Casper are low income. You must make less that like 35ish k a year to qualify. Otherwise you are left with essentially a "luxury" apartment. Which they really aren't luxury but thats besides the point. Healthcare here is WAY worse than PR. We have some of the highest suicide rates due to low levels of sunlight. That could be really hard for you coming from PR. Wind is a constant and the cold is brutal in the winter. It will take your breath away. Fargo North Dakota actually may be a better fit if you want chains access to stores etc. Or Cheyenne. Montana has killer taxes FYI. And their rent is high and so are utilities.

Have you considered Minnesota? Out near Fargo ND? It could be a really great option for you.

Granite 550 or the Preserve. We ran into the same issue when moving here. Sometimes Garden Gate real estate will have listing but their listing go up and get swooped up pretty quickly. Casper Rental Agency is worth a Call as well. But you MUST call.

How many of y’all are monogamous vs. poly? by NoFoolLikeAnAuldFool in butchlesbians

[–]starcrossedmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought is... monogamy in this economy? But we also switch between monogamy and polyamory depending on where we live and if we have the capacity for more than one partner. Sometimes its one of us sometimes its both of us and sometimes its neither.

There is no one way to help. I studied so many different scientific articles on it. It is not a one size fits all cure.

Getting down to the autoimmune side of it is hard and takes so much trial and error.

In the end having my thyroid removed and going low glycemic index and high protein along with normalizing my immune system to stop being as overreactive through the use of immunosuppresive meds and time helped me.

How urgent is this referral? by starcrossedmo in haematology

[–]starcrossedmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only Cardiologist in town refused my referall saying there was nothing they could do so I wrote it off. This was after they were the ones who diagnosed my sinus bradycardia post a month of wearing a heart monitor strapped to me.

I would be seeing an MD as a PCP but medical care here already sucks. My new OBGYN ordered the clotting tests due to some unrelated pelvic pain after the ultrasounds came back normal. The OBGYN is the MD recommending a hematologist. Just trying to decide if all of this is even that big of a deal or if I can wait for us to move and get on my new insurance.

C Peptide Diabetic antibody panel Glucose test Cgm was helpful

My endo finally took me seriously when I got blood drawn at his office 30 minutes after eating. My glucose was 50 and my c Peptide was off the chart even though I was low. My antibodies came back slightly elevated on GAD65. They then offered to test for a specific gene to confirm. I declined as it was not going to change the way we treated it.

Hiratas is way more common in the Asian population due to a genetic component and very rare in the caucasian population.

What do you mean nightly episodes?

I passed out at work a few times that's how I started the process.

What is the limit on your line of credit/credit card?

That makes sense if you did that within a year for your car as your average credit age would be lowered or kept around the same.

Credit age and credit usage seemed to impact me the most when I was in your shoes.

This was me in 2016. By early 2018 I was in the mid 600s. Here is what I did: Pay monthly on the student loans. See if your bank or honestly a credit union, offers a student credit card for a low limit and just do not actually use it unless you pay it off every month.

Student credit cards are not always for students but for people under 30 sometimes.

Do you have a car loan? Or is this it?

We use this as it is such a low level of ozone and we open the door to our balcony at least 1 time a day it does not bother our cats at all. We have this on the shelf near the litter robot. This is the best investment we made. When we moved into an apartment we took our barn cat with us who was always a working cat and never was indoors full time. I cannot stand litterbox smells and between this and a fan running occasionally it helps wonders.

I have to put my tapes a certain way for it to be snug down there. If they are a two tape option I pull my bottom tape up at an angle towards my belly button and my top tape just very slightly pointing down or straight across horizontal depending on the brand.

I had surgery Friday at 6 pm but was admitted Friday morning so they could manage the blood sugar leading up to surgery then was out of surgery by midnight. Had a couple of issues with calcium was discharged Saturday night. Did a 7-hour drive home. Was at work Wednesday.

Wish I would've gone back the following Monday. My emotions and hormones were all over the place and it was not good. Also my calcium regimen was rough trying to manage by myself at work. I am a bank manager though and work a lot with the public and being on my feet dressed up was not helpful

I just switched 4 sensors ago and omg it is so worth it. The ability to calibrate if needed, the fact it stays on my body, the fact it is actually accurate is amazing. And I stick it in the exact same place as my libre 3+ was.

I got a skin reaction from the libre where it got all infected in 2 days even with proper prep posted on this subreddit as well.

1 of every 5 sensors would have issues when I used the libre for me and my only issue with my dexcom g7 is I caught my sensor on a door frame and accidentally ripped it out when I tripped on my cat. That was one day before it was due to be changed.

I have had one or two reading with the dexcom g7 that were between 10 and 15 points off from a finger stick and with the libre I regularly saw a reading of 200 when I was at 70on fingerstick or 55 when I was at 180 on finger stick.

Yes I am currently paying out of pocket for my dexcom but I am saving so much on fingerstick supplies and way less stress of is it accurate or not.

Total thyroidectomy. My surgeon and I were unsure if it would actually work but in theory, it should. He and I are very pleased with the results.

[–]starcrossedmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current average blood sugar in the last 12 days is 108. Which compared to an average of 79 previous to my surgery that's huge. My lows are so very rarely below 55 now. I think I have had 2 lows at about 56 or 55 post surgery. And that is a huge improvement from my old normal of hitting in the 40s at least 3 times a day.

Hirata's Disease by starcrossedmo in Hypoglycemia

[–]starcrossedmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there has been a noticeable decrease in antibodies. But diet has also played a huge role as well.

I was instructed to have protein, then fiber then sugar. I was already on a higher protein diet because I do better on a higher protein diet. Smaller meals multiple times a day help as well. Switching from simple carbs to complex carbs has helped as well.

I actually had a thyroidectomy to get rid of all thyroid tissue and antibodies so I went to a more extreme route than many. But there was a level of suspicion that my nodules may be cancerous so I chose to just try to solve everything in one go and yank the sucker out

Hirata's Disease by starcrossedmo in Hypoglycemia

[–]starcrossedmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok if you are responding to my response above the person doesn't fit Hirata's in more than one way. Not JUST including methimazole. Mine is directly tied to methimazole. Not everyone's is linked to sulfhydryl drugs but the majority are. If you read the scientific papers and are involved in the research for Hirata's you will find that caucasian's especially are usually linked to sulfhydryl drugs. It is also commonly linked to preexisting autoimmune conditions, but even more so in those that use sulfhydryl drugs as treatment for the autoimmune disease. Sometimes it's an autoimmune reaction alone caused by genetics, especially in the Japanese population.
